Raising Children Baby Boomer Style
Raising children is a journey filled with joy, challenges, and endless learning. Reflecting on past parenting styles, particularly those of the baby Boomer Generation, can provide valuable insights for today’s parents. Baby boomer parents developed unique approaches to child-rearing that were influenced by the societal norms and values of their time. One of the hallmarks of baby boomer parenting was the strong emphasis on hard work. Parents instilled the belief that diligence and perseverance were key to achieving success. This value was often reflected in their expectations regarding school performance and later, career achievements. Education is viewed as a crucial stepping stone to a better life. This senior generation prioritized academic success and often pushed their children to excel at school with mixed results.
This area of the site investigates how the baby boomer generation as well as their kids have raised resilient children, how the boomers are now interacting with their children and grandchildren, parenting techniques, how respect for their elders and teachers has shaped kid’s lives and the family dynamics that are the overriding factor in most of our Relationships.

As someone who makes a living helping managers and executives become better leaders, I always take a moment when the political climate changes. Why? Because this is where we observe leadership both at its best and at its worse, usually within nano-seconds of each other. All the rancor and rhetoric around the change of government administration always causes me to pause. While I have vowed to never let politics enter my domain of communication here, I cannot help but observe humanity at play as political tides change. Without calling out one side or the other, I find it always interesting…
