Memory Health for Baby Boomers: Practical Tips and Strategies
How many times have we forgotten where we left our keys or just didn’t remember in what aisle we parked our car? Most Baby Boomers would just shrug those incidents off as it could happen no matter what age I am. But as we get older, we must work harder to improve our memory health. Practical tips for baby boomers to help maintain a sharp memory include staying physically active like walking, biking and even dancing which boosts blood flow to your brain; engage in mental activities like reading, solving puzzles, learning new skills and staying curious; stay organized using calendars and lists to reduce mental clutter; prioritize Sleep for memory consolidation; eat a healthy Diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains which support brain health; and protect your head by wearing helmets during activities that pose a risk of head injury.
