The decision to pursue weight lost techniques seems to decrease as we get older. 46% of Baby Boomers are trying to lose weight and 55% of these boomers are following some sort of Diet. Compare that to 53% of Generation X that are trying to lose weight, of which 71% are following a specific diet. Whereas 57% of Millennials are trying to lose weight and 80% are on a specific diet. Baby Boomers can achieve healthy weight loss through a combination of diet changes, increased physical activity and Lifestyle adjustments. Focusing on portion control, reducing processed foods and sweets, and increasing activity levels are key components of a successful weight loss plan for our generation. Increasing protein and fiber while hydrating by drinking plenty of water is important as we are Aging. Regular Exercise like walking, swimming, cycling or dancing and balancing exercises like Tai Chi and stretching can improve flexibility, reducing the risk of falls.
