My thoughts from Wednesday are something I try to remember. Even with outfits we don’t love how they come together, it’s good for our brains to try new combinations and learn what we like and don’t like from them.
It stops us from being stagnant.
I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
SATURDAY
Today is a conglomeration of many older pieces in my closet.
Skirt worn with peasant blouse
Shoes worn with manly things
Crochet top worn with shorts and a shawl
The top tends to fall down my shoulders so I used my cardigan pins to keep the bra straps and cami straps all in place.
Then I used turquoise as my accent color with my headscarf, necklace, and earrings.
AND I DO NOT apologize for my pale legs. I don’t use a self-tanner, and I’m at peace with my complexion after years and years of tanning, using chemicals, and all the things. I wrote about it in 2019 and I haven’t looked back since.
SUNDAY
This dress came in my clothing rental box and one could describe it as overwhelming. But to me, that also means a challenge.
So I decided to wear it over a pair of pants. I won this pair of pants from an IG giveaway. They look better on than they did out of the package, but I still wouldn’t have paid that much for them.
I haven’t experimented with wearing a dress with pants that much. The original crew tried it with our T-shirt dresses once, and it felt off.
But I see many images on Pinterest that make it look cool, so I tried it today.
To keep the pants exposed more, I used magnets on the side of the dress’s openings.
Matched my shoes (worn with 5 different outfits) with my pants and traded out the self belt for this yellow one.
MONDAY
Another day, another dress from the clothing rental site that I’m trying out for free for a month (and you can too if you’re interested).
I decided to layer my newest thrifted white vest over it and add the white cowboy boots.
But to make sure I didn’t look too cowgirly, I added the beret.
How’s that for a mix of style…a Parisian cowgirl?
TUESDAY
This ended up being VERY similar to yesterday’s look.
I was helping out at Just Be Youtiful with a group that calls themselves Black and Bling…thus the black dress and loads of bling.
I added brooches on both sides of this rented denim vest (it’s the reason I wanted to thrift the white one above…the shape tickles my fancy).
The boots are from that discontinued shoe site and are under $40…plus use code COMFY10.
I’m also sporting cardigan clips on my sleeves to shorten them PLUS add more sass.
WEDNESDAY
I wanted to wear this dress that I found for $7 at the Anthropology outlet (since I finally fixed the tear in it), but I didn’t want to recreate Monday’s or Tuesday’s looks.
Instead, I decided to layer the dress over this pair of silk pants. The pants are palazzo enough to look like a maxi skirt.
Then I wore my gold booties and gold bolero with it. (You’ve seen this bolero years ago tied in front like it was made to be.)
It’s not my favorite outfit but I’m glad I tried it.
THURSDAY
I wanted to wear these pants one more time before I sent them back to the clothing rental company. They are just SO fun and vibrant, which is why I thought to pair them with this pumpkin sequin sweater (worn with leather shorts before).
I have this thing about wearing a collared shirt under a crew neck sweater but I didn’t need the warmth today. That’s why I chose my furry dickey for today.
Then my ivory Mary Jane flats were the perfect footwear choice.
FRIDAY
I was helping out with a Just Be Youtiful fashion show and wanted to wear my 2 new items from the boutique.
This cardigan is still available and is lightweight as well as perfectly sparkly. It’s cropped with 2 hook and eye closures and very inexpensive. Reach out to Kym on her FB page and use code Jtouch15.
The leopard tulle mini skirt was also from Kym’s boutique. I thought it would be a fun layering skirt.
I wore tights (it was rainy today) and my black patent oxfords (worn 5 ways in the past). But I had to add extras:
-Sheer pearl socks
-Mint colored earrings and necklace
