Worse, sound Sleep may seem like a thing of the past, thus magnifying the Stress we feel. 

The described stress above soon transfers to magnifying struggles with business and attempts to maintain a steadfast footing to achieve one’s goals. It’s easy to tell oneself that what I’m doing is useless and, worse, to feel hopeless. 

Know that the negative mentality is our worst enemy. It belittles who we are and what we stand for. It’s necessary to dig in, reconfirm our ideals and commitment, and possibly re-strategize goals with workarounds to see them succeed. Recent

If you awaken feeling anxious in the morning, consider which activities during the day may lighten the load and re-energize your mindset to proceed on a sound footing. Helpful ideas include participating in a popular sport such as Pickleball, going to the gym, or taking an extended walk. Speaking from experience, the increase in energy you feel afterward can relax you enough to proceed with your work.

How to Deal with Avoidance

Once we are in a positive mood, the next step is to reconsider those who expressed ‘No’ to us regarding our products and services. Recalling my sales career, I reminded myself of the varying options ‘no’ can mean to others and the better approach for moving forward. 

When ‘No’ Arises Consider Asking These Questions:

  • Please explain the reasoning for ‘no’ so that I understand fully.
  • Do you have underlying questions that I didn’t answer?
  • Is your answer for ‘no’ due to not having the budget in place just yet?
  • Is there a time that may be better for us to reconnect?

In the sales profession, those questions surprised the people I was attempting to work with but delighted them to the point of relaxing and giving me the straight details. It all led to earning the sale.

Responding to ‘No’ As An Entrepreneur

As an entrepreneur, I work more relaxed hours and strive to be as accommodating as possible for those I serve. One circumstance led me to recall my previous sales strategies. I then reached out to explain how my community service effort came to be and its significance. The response was better than I imagined, bringing about a remarkable offer, to which it was my turn to say Yes!

Embrace A New Perspective for ‘No’

Train your mind to remember that the word ‘no’ is typically temporary until further explanation can be shared. Direct questions usually provide the answers you seek as they then lead you to how to proceed.

Everyone has good and bad days, but businesses and careers must keep their eye on the prize to achieve their desired goals. The next time you awaken with a stressful outlook, remind yourself of the potentially better times ahead and what needs to be accomplished to enjoy them.
