Feeling Humble Today…

Feeling Humble Today… &Raquo; September 11 1024X536 1

September 11 is a day that makes me humble. Thousands of innocent people died from religious fanatics who hate the freedoms we have in America . For a short time, we came together as a nation whether we were Republicans or Democrats. I am humble for the blessings I have. The people in our military put their lives on the line in various parts of the world that allow us to have the freedoms we have here at home. They deserve our support and respect. I am blessed to donate 100% of my book and program profits to charities that support dogs and veterans. My military service was during the Vietnam War... Continue Reading

Fear Of Loss Or Fomo &Raquo; Fear Of Loss Of Fomo 1024X536 1

If you have followed my posts for any length of time you would realize that I am not a big fan of the stock market. Today I will talk about the fear of loss, and the Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO). While we do have about 15% of our net worth tied up in the stock market that also means 85% of our investments are NOT tied to the stock market. But if you have the bulk of your investments in the stock market, then this post is for you. With the current volatility of the market; inflation we’ve not seen for decades; and turmoil in the world, you might sell off what you have and move to cash out of fear... Continue Reading

Do You Make Lists?

Do You Make Lists? &Raquo; Do You Make Lists 1024X536 1

Do you make lists? Whether it is based on my OCD or just efficiency, I like lists. Do you have a list for grocery shopping? It saves money and time. Do you have a travel packing list? It can save you from forgetting something important. One time my wife and I went to a destination wedding and I forgot underwear. Guess what? I didn’t use a list. Do you do a To-Do list? This was the list that helped create my wealth. I made sure the 20% that would result in 80% of my success was on the list. I created it each evening prior to the day of my work. This email was thought up as I was thinking about... Continue Reading

The Truth Can Be Bad

The Truth Can Be Bad &Raquo; Truth Can Be Bad 1024X536 1

Are you ready for some humor? This comic reminded me of more than just dating. It reminded me of how some salespeople give a great first impression and promise the world and then do not follow up on anything they said they would do. Back in 2016 my wife and I sold an apartment building, and if we did not find a replacement property we were looking at a tax bill that is more money than the annual earnings of 95% of the population. We did find a replacement property that pays us over $73,000 per year without lifting a finger. Would you like to be in that situation? When I say you can do it, and... Continue Reading

Be Irresistible In 7 Seconds &Raquo; Be Irresistible In 7 Seconds 1024X536 1

Would you like people to trust you in seven seconds? You can learn how to have people trust you, like you, and buy from you in as little as seven seconds. This is not a promotional email to a seminar or workshop. Below is a link to a six-minute interview with Vanessa Van Edwards, the author of Human Lie Detection. You will see and hear the three keys to being likeable and irresistible are: Hand gestures that show intention and explanation. Vocal variety with excitement versus a monotone. How much to smile, not all the time, but at the right time. In 6 minutes you can learn how to move and speak... Continue Reading

What do you believe?

What Do You Believe? &Raquo; What Do You Believe 1024X536 1

Today’s post is about the need for critical thinking. This is something that is not taught in schools and is a severe shortcoming in most people’s education and lives. When it comes to money many people take the opinions of others at face value without any critical thinking. As an example, when a bank offers a consolation loan you need to look at the total payments over the period, not just the interest rate or the monthly payment. You could end up paying more in total on your consolidation loan than the total of payments on your existing loans. Do the calculation yourself to confirm it is... Continue Reading

Home Improvement Financing Options &Raquo; Home Improvement Financing Options 1024X536 1

Are you considering a home improvement project this year? From my Realtor friend, Jay McHugh, here is some information on how to pay for home improvements – if you plan to do this at some point. Maybe out of necessity you might need a new roof or fence — or you might want more space or additional amenities, like an updated kitchen, bathroom, or a swimming pool. Whatever the reason for your projects, you’ll likely wonder the best way to pay for them. Here are four ways to cover the costs. Home Equity: You can leverage your home equity to cover home improvements. Among your options are a... Continue Reading

LinkedIn Scams

Linkedin Scams &Raquo; Linkedin Scams 1024X536 1

Just like you might have found on Facebook, there are fake people creating profiles on LinkedIn. With 830 million members, LinkedIn is one of the largest platforms to find a job or make a business connection. The fake profiles might be a small number, like 1000 out of the millions of real people on the platform, but it can lure you in to provide personal information and get scammed. However, last year LinkedIn took down about 32 million, again, 32 million, fake accounts. The following information comes from one of the services I use to protect my computer from malware, viruses, and bad cookies.Posted:... Continue Reading

Finding Hotel Room Deals… &Raquo; Hotel Room Deals 1024X536 1

With summer upon us, you may be planning some travel, and I found a cool way to get good deals on hotel rooms. You might already know about this, but I didn’t. I was so pleased I shared it with my wife, and she said this is already what she does. When it is time to book a hotel room you want a good price, right? How many websites do you need to look at? Or how many phone calls do you make? In the past, this is what was required to get a good deal on a hotel room. Many years ago I used some online website to book a room in Las Vegas when I went to visit my daughter. It was not a gambling trip,... Continue Reading

Romance Scammers (Beware of Scammers – Part Three)

Romance Scammers (Beware Of Scammers – Part Three) &Raquo; Beware Of Romance Scammers 1024X536 1

One reader suggested I talk about one of the most personally painful scams. This one is worse than losing money or feeling embarrassed. This one is close to being personally violated in addition to losing money. This is the Facebook or other social network scam where someone reaches out to a single person, a woman usually, and over time creates a close bond. A woman can also scam a man, or it can even be a gay pairing. The man or woman might be single, divorced, or widowed. They are easy targets to find because there may be an announcement about a divorce party or a funeral announcement on social... Continue Reading
