I come from a large Italian Family. I’m number seven in the line of ten kids!

My dad knew that raising a family that large would result in a trade-off of valuable time at home with them, and as a very small kid, I remember him being gone a lot. He could be out days to weeks at a time as he worked his way up the corporate ladder at Caterpillar Tractor Company. When I was around five years old, my dad decided we needed an activity, something we could do as a family that would help build a strong family bond. Coming from a long line of entertainers as he did, he decided to start The Dancing Dentino Family Act.

Every Tuesday night, Dad and Mom would load us all up in the VW micro-minivan and cart us off to the dance studio where Great Aunt Rose and Great Aunt Gene – both vaudeville veterans – would spend the next two hours teaching us tap, ballet, jazz, tumbling, and an assortment of vaudeville routines. Every Saturday morning at 8:00, Mom would wake us up to a big family breakfast, and then we would grab our tap shoes and head to the basement. Dad would work with the older kids on a section first, and when they had it down, he would pair them with one of our younger kids. We would work together as Dad would float between the pairs and help.
I did not realize it then, but what I CAUGHT from my dad through that was far more important than anything I was taught during those rehearsals. I caught the three fundamental principles of my dad‘s life: Family: the most important relationship you’ll ever have on this earth. Service to others: the most important thing you will do while you are here on this earth. Dedication and Hard Work: the most important thing you can be known for while you are here on this earth.

What’s more, my dad’s dedication to his family can be described by a term that I have now come to adopt from Zig Ziglar: “persistent consistency.” He was persistently consistent, every Tuesday, every Saturday without fail. Moreover, when he was out of town, the older kids jumped in and kept it going.

Ultimately, we traveled all over the Midwest singing, dancing, doing magic tricks, telling old vaudeville jokes, and entertaining people. We even performed with the Osmond Brothers once. However, the point of the family act was not to become the next Osmond Family. It was to deepen the relationship within the family.

When my dad passed away some years ago, I was fortunate enough to be there as the end was coming. I was standing just to the right of his hospital bed; he was lying there with his eyes closed. All of a sudden, Dad opens his eyes. He looks up at the ceiling with a look of peace – and maybe accomplishment – on his face. Then he closes his eyes for the last time. I guess out of instinct, I reached down and kissed him on that prickly cheek one last time. My dad left a Legacy in that life well lived! A legacy based on three main principles: Family, Service, and Dedication. I do what I do to carry on that legacy to the best of my ability.

There’s a pattern that plays out in virtually every sales organization: top performers attend mandatory training, participate politely, and then go back to doing exactly what they were doing before. They ignore the methodology, skip the frameworks, and sell their own way—often while outperforming colleagues who diligently follow the training. Most organizations interpret this as a compliance problem or an ego issue. The reality is more uncomfortable: top reps ignore training because they’ve learned, through experience, that most of it doesn’t actually help them win deals. They’ve dev…

The uncomfortable math behind the 87% knowledge loss within 30 days—and what it actually costs.Executive SummaryEvery year, organizations invest billions in sales training programs that produce almost no lasting behavior change. The uncomfortable truth is that traditional training ROI calculations are built on a foundation of fiction—they measure activity, not impact, and they conveniently ignore the neuroscience of how adults actually learn and retain information. Research consistently shows that 87% of new skills taught in traditional training are lost within 30 days, yet companies cont…

As organizations look toward 2026, most are investing heavily in strategy, technology, and structural change. New platforms. New operating models. New performance targets. Yet beneath all of it sits a variable that determines whether any of those investments will actually pay off: how the human brain changes behavior under pressure.Despite unprecedented investment in transformation, results remain inconsistent. Across industries, research consistently shows that roughly two-thirds of organizational change efforts fail to deliver sustained behavior change. The gap is rarely strategy or intellig…

As organizations look ahead to 2026, one assumption feels nearly universal: AI will play a bigger role in how we sell, lead, coach, and communicate. Tools will get faster. Insights will become more accessible. Automation will touch nearly every part of the business. And yet, there’s a quieter truth many leaders are beginning to confront. AI is not fixing communication problems. It’s exposing them.Technology does not create Clarity. It amplifies whatever already exists.Neuroscience helps explain why this matters. AI can accelerate decision-making, but it cannot regulate emotion. It can gener…

Every fourth quarter brings the same tension.Targets loom. Time compresses. Pressure rises. And somewhere between urgency and exhaustion, many sales teams start to unravel.Reps push harder but listen less. Managers increase activity but lose clarity. Conversations become reactive. Deals stall not because the solution is wrong, but because the human dynamics inside the sale deteriorate under Stress. The truth is this: Q4 performance is not an effort problem. It’s a nervous system problem.Pressure Changes the BrainWhen pressure spikes, the brain doesn’t rise to the occasion. It narrows.Neuros…

In every organization, clarity is talked about far more often than it is practiced. Leaders encourage clearer communication, clearer priorities, and clearer roles. Yet as companies grow, complexity tends to grow even faster. New initiatives are layered on top of old ones. Messages become longer. Strategies become more complicated. Teams begin to interpret direction differently, even when leaders believe they have been perfectly clear. The root of this challenge is not organizational at all. It is neurological. For years, empathy in healthcare sales has been treated as a soft skill, something nice to have but not essential to results. The reality is far more scientific. Empathy is not simply a personality trait; it is a measurable brain function that directly impacts trust, connection, and influence. In a field where accuracy, compliance, and credibility matter, empathy often gets lost behind the guardrails of regulation. Yet neuroscience shows that when human connection disappears, engagement follows. For healthcare professionals, empathy is not just ethical; it is effective. The Brain Chemistry of Em…

The average buyer today is drowning in information. They’re managing endless data, metrics, and priorities, all while trying to make high-stakes decisions under pressure. In that environment, the last thing they need is a salesperson who adds to the overload.Neuroscience tells us that the brain has a finite capacity for processing information, known as cognitive load. When that load is exceeded, decision-making slows, comprehension drops, and confidence evaporates. In sales, this is where deals stall—not because the solution is wrong, but because the buyer’s brain simply cannot process o…
