Take a Listen! Well, hello after quite some time! First and foremost, I had to step back a bit from social media and blogging due to illness. My old friend and nemesis Influenza A hit the house, followed by a family emergency. Quite frankly, it’s been this way since Thanksgiving 2023. Though such is life, it’s been great and a breath of fresh air to literally breathe the fresh air with a strong hint of Kansas wind. Over the last month it has been chaotic, but in that chaos I have found peace and beautiful moments. Highlight: No one died, which was truly a blessing. Health trumps... Continue Reading

Have you ever been in a situation where you started off talking about one thing and the person you are talking to twisted it around and an argument starts? Well, there is the easy, empowering solution to effortlessly defend yourself in that situation with subtlety. I recently saw a YouTube video interview between Dr. Jordan Peterson and Cathy Newman. Jordon Peterson is a clinical psychologist, professor, public lecturer, business consultant, and vice president at a neuropsychological assessment company. You can see his LinkedIn account here >> https://www.linkedin.com/in/jordanbpeterson/ Cathy... Continue Reading
In December I received an email that contained a big credit lie. While much of the email was correct and things you probably already know, one item stood out to me like a sore thumb: Credit cards, bank loans, car loans, and home loans are considered “good credit” and a mixture of different types is helpful compared to only a car loan. I put this in red because credit cards are only considered good credit to creditors, NOT for you if you’re trying to create wealth. You have probably heard me say not to focus on paying off credit cards because this does not lead to Complete Financial Choice®,... Continue Reading
As the lower-paid sex, women have no shortage of insecurities about their retirement finances. Only one in five working women feels “very confident” of being able to retire comfortably, the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies reports in its annual retirement survey. More than half say they don’t earn enough or have too much debt to leave a lot of room for saving. Four in 10 expect to retire after 70 or not at all. These insecurities probably reflect, to some extent, the poor retirement preparedness of Americans as a whole, not just women. In fact, women have made significant strides... Continue Reading
Many pundits are predicting a recession and if you’re afraid, let me tell you why don’t need to be. Patricia McDade was my mentor for 10 years and so much of her advice has changed my life for the better. As an example, she once said that it does not matter what is happening in the economy, it is up to me to choose the actions so I can thrive. There are three possible ways for you to respond when times are tough. By the way, the word “responsibility” has most of the word “respond” in it. You are responsible for how you respond not only to a recession but to almost everything in life. What... Continue Reading
As we start to descend into the holidays and gift shopping, identity theft and fraud will be on the rise. Here are some tips to stay safe, and what to do if you are a victim. And there are things we as a society could implement to reduce this massive crime. Be aware that just about everyone’s personal data is for sale on the dark web. The dark web is where criminals go to purchase your social security number, driver’s license information, or your credit card numbers. When I go to my doctor and the form asks for my social security number, I do not provide it. I have no idea if a staff member... Continue Reading
I hope all my readers in the U.S. had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. You may, or may not have heard of Cristiano Ronaldo. He is a very highly-paid soccer player who used to play for Manchester United in Great Britain. His net worth is about $115 million. He earned about $60 million from playing soccer with career earnings of over $1 billion. He was one of the highest-paid athletes in the world. … Or should I say a real successful football player. We only call it soccer because we have our own football in the U.S. But real football (soccer) actually uses the foot to play the game. Plus the head,... Continue Reading
Last week I asked the question, “Are you happy?” Rooted in the American Declaration of Independence is the pursuit of happiness, and if we aren’t careful, we can end up miserable instead… The post Chasing Happiness… first appeared on Rennie Gabriel. Continue Reading

What do I mean by “treat yourself like you matter?” It means to pay yourself first. Before you pay the rent, mortgage, utilities, groceries, or anything else, you take a portion of the income you received and set it aside to keep for the rest of your life and invest.
