Why train for a pull-up?
Because it’s not just about muscle strength. It’s about consistency, grit, and resilience—the kind you build every time you push toward a goal.
I’ve tried to find the actual percentage of women who can do at least one unassisted pull-up, and the numbers vary. But most sources suggest it’s around 20%—and that’s across all ages. So for women over 60? The number is likely even lower.
But for me, it’s never been about comparisons. It’s about challenging myself to do things that are hard—both for me and for most people.
If everyone climbed Mount Everest, it wouldn’t seem like such a big deal, right?
On my 2025 vision board, I set a goal for ONE unassisted pull-up (granted I started training a year ago in April). Then I got two. Now I’m at three—right after recovering from a bad cold that knocked me out for over three weeks!
My next goal? Improving my form, getting stronger so I can extend my arms fully, and once that’s solid, training for more reps.
And let me tell you—every single time my chin clears that bar, it feels like pure bliss. A spiritual experience.
What’s one goal that would make you feel superhuman—so strong that life’s everyday challenges feel easier?
