Fun With Practical Green Outfits For St. Pat’s Day
With St. Pat’s Day right around the corner, we wanted to give you some fun yet practical ideas for green outfits. Bright green is one of those colors that bring up thoughts of spring, yet there are so many shades of green that you could substitute as the green in any of these looks.
Quote of the day: “Growth and comfort do not co-exist.” Ginni Rometty
As an equal opportunity color lover, I can never understand when people say they don’t like a particular color (yes, Lesley, I’m talking to you, haha).
With all of the various shades of ANY color, it seems that there would be a shade that would tickle your fancy.
Green is one of those colors that Mother Nature shows us a lot, especially in spring.
And if the color in question doesn’t look good with your complexion, it’s easy enough to wear it on the bottom half of your body or in your accessories instead.
There is no shortage of articles on my site showcasing different shades of green with all kinds of color combinations if you want more inspiration.

- Jewelry to wear with green dress
- Emerald green and other colors
- Colors to go with olive green
- Different color combinations with green
Join Rob, Cathie and I as we share fun options for green outfits that work for any time of year, but are especially perfect for St. Pat’s Day.
Rob: Green Pants with a Red Top
Even my husband, Rob has a pair of green pants. His fashion choices have evolved 180 degrees since I met him, and he gets loads of compliments on his colorful and stylish looks.
As part of our green outfits showcase, he paired these green pants with a red sweatshirt.
Now if your first thought of green and red together is purely Christmas, then do what Rob did and add in other neutrals.
To break up the red and green, Rob wore a shearling ivory vest.
On top of that, he grounded the look with brown sneakers and a tan fedora.
Cathie: Green Outfits with White and Pops of Pink
Cathie also wore a pair of green pants. She wore neutrals for her top and jacket and then added color with her shoes, purse, and earrings.
Related post: Pink and Green Outfits
Cathie wore these pink, sparkle sneakers recently and everyone raved about them. She was lucky enough to find them secondhand, and they are so cute.
P.S. I think this is your sign that you need a pair of sparkle sneakers.
She continued the pink theme with her purse and earrings, yet they were a bright pink instead of a light pink.
Insider tip: You do NOT need to match everything in your outfits. In fact, it can be considered frumpy, so have fun with different shades of your accent colors.
Jodie: Green Outfits with Many Shades of Green
I thought it would be fun to combine 3 different shades of green all in one outfit. So I combined a lime green turtleneck with this olive green vest and topped it off with a green corduroy blazer.
Because I paired all of the greens with white jeans and sneakers, it isn’t overwhelmingly green. For me, it’s a great example of fun yet practical green outfits for St. Pat’s Day.
I shared the outfit that my mom had put together for today in my daily email. It was very similar to mine and she even had on the same sneakers. However, the morning of this photo shoot, she wasn’t feeling well, and couldn’t join us.
I twisted her arm to buy these sneakers when we were shopping together. They are ageless and make any outfit modern.
White sneakers are very functional as I’ve shown multiple ways to wear them.
