Silent Generation
The Silent Generation and their impact on Baby Boomers
The Silent Generation, often overlooked in the generational conversation, is an indispensable part of our societal structure. The Silent Generation, also know as the Traditionalist Generation, is a demographic cohort of people born between 1928 and 1945. They are the generation that came after the Greatest Generation and before the Baby Boomers. They are the children of the Great Depression and World War II. Their silent label refers to their conformist and civic instincts and makes for a nice contrast with the noisy ways of the Baby Boomers.
Their experiences instilled in them a deep appreciation for hard work, frugality, and perseverance. Despite being tagged ‘silent,’ they have significantly influenced our world, contributing to the foundation upon which Baby Boomers and subsequent generations have built their lives.
The Silent Generation may not be the loudest voice in the room, but their influence is undeniable. From stabilizing post-war America to setting the stage for the civil rights movements, their contributions continue to shape our world. Our experts below explore how our parent’s generation has effected us through our entire lives.
