Resilience and Belonging. Meet Gina Casazza: Actress, Children’s author, Public speaker. Filmmaker.
I had a fun conversation with Gina. She is not the could have, should have, would have type. Chase your dreams and learn from failure. Don’t fear it.
Today, I’m thrilled to introduce Gina Casazza—a storyteller, educator, and resilience expert with a background as compelling as her mission. Gina’s path has taken her from rigorous mental toughness training with a Navy SEAL to the unforgettable challenge of a civilian SERE course, where she learned invaluable lessons in perseverance and inner strength. These transformative experiences led her to write You Really Truly Do Belong, a children’s book that empowers young readers to embrace self-acceptance and a sense of belonging.
Gina’s passion for literacy didn’t stop there. She founded Empower Lit – Literacy & Beyond, a nonprofit that brings the magic of reading to underserved schools. Her journey into holistic healing and mindset work began when she unexpectedly went deaf in her left ear at 21. Despite doctors saying she’d never hear again, Gina defied the odds, regaining most of her hearing a decade later. Her resilience and humor carried her through that journey and into a stint as a stand-up comic, where she sharpened her skill for connecting with audiences on a relatable Gina joins us today to share her story and the life lessons she’s gathered along the way.
