She has played a pivotal role in mentoring new teachers and advocating for education through her work with the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario. In 2023, she was honoured by the Council for Exceptional Children for her leadership and advocacy for students. In addition to her impressive career, Shannon founded teacherEDU.ca, an online community dedicated to helping educators learn, connect, collaborate, and grow.
