Steven Babcock 31 residing on Ross Road found himself in handcuffs following an attempted sexual battery on a disabled adult. Despite the family’s limited familiarity with Babcock, he was granted access to their residence. However, the situation took a distressing turn when in the absence of the family member who extended the invitation Babcock attempted sexual battery on the vulnerable adult. Deputies and investigators acted swiftly locating Babcock walking along a nearby street soon after the report was made. During questioning, Babcock confessed to the attempted sexual battery shedding light on the severity of the situation. Now facing charges of Felony Battery and Attempted Sexual Battery on a Disabled Adult, Babcock finds himself confined in the Bay County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings. The BCSO’s prompt response underscores their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the community’s most vulnerable members and ensuring that justice prevails.
