Meet Rosemary Gattuso
A self-proclaimed chronic overthinker, Rosemary Gattuso was always curious about how other people managed their daily challenges.
Studying law, she soon learned it wasn’t the career for her; instead Rosemary was drawn to mediation – using a model that moved away from ‘us versus them’ to ‘we’, replacing blame and fault with collaboration.
Rosemary became a family dispute resolution practitioner, otherwise known as a ‘family mediator’ for the Family Court of Australia.
In her book It’s Not You, It’s Me, Rosemary outlines the scales of self-reflection along with troubleshooting hints and practical ways to use the scales. There are also reflection tasks in each chapter.
Rosemary hopes It’s Not You, It’s Me will be a stepping stone towards increasing self-awareness and transforming negative self-talk into empowering personal growth and resilience – the ability to bounce back, reflect and learn from our challenges and mistakes.
Using the ‘It’s Not You, It’s Me’ principle you will be able to:
● Identify ways that limit your ability to triumph in the face adversity
● Discover how to catch yourself overthinking
● Recognise the impact your thoughts have on your physical world
● Experience life with the spotlight on your strength
● Believe in yourself, especially when others don’t.
Ultimately, overcoming challenges thrown at you in life, is all about being able to adapt.
‘The key message from this book is the importance and impact that our thoughts have on our lived experience. The quality of our thoughts will be reflected in our physical world, and conversely, our physical world will give us clues as to whether our thoughts lean predominantly towards What’s Wrong or What’s Strong,’ said Rosemary.
