There are plenty of things I care about at 61—family, curiosity, Growth, joy—but in this reel, I’m showing you three I can visually capture:
Style. Strength. Balance.
Style is how I express who I am now—not who I was, or who I’m supposed to be.
Strength is earned. I trained hard for pull-ups at 60, and yes, at 61 I can do them, which feels mindblowing considering I was recovering from a rotator cuff tear when I started training last year.
Balance? It’s always a work in progress, especially in daily life, but handstands help keep it interesting and challenging for me. Tree pose is a simple alternative.
I didn’t grow up thinking this version of 61 was possible – I actually had no idea what it would look like. But here I am. Still learning, moving, and surprising myself.
At 50 I didn’t feel I had peaked yet, and at 61 I still don’t feel I’m over the hill.
How do you challenge outdated notions of Aging?
