The AI Technology, known as "Heads Up," will capture footage of potential infractions, which will then be reviewed by humans to confirm violations. This effort aims to address key factors in crashes, as distracted driving and seat belt non-use significantly increase crash risks. The trial follows the Touch.Screen campaign, which raised awareness about mobile phone use while driving, driven in part by a tragic incident involving Calvin Buckley, who lost his partner and unborn child in a crash caused by a distracted driver. The trial will also serve as a traffic survey to monitor ongoing law compliance.
