How To Create A Fired-Up, Five Year Plan

There is an answer to a question that sets the stage for every action you are taking today. When you know this, you’ll activate your inner super-power in ways that astound you. Why? Because once you decide it, you’ll gladly spend your energy to make it happen.

The reverse is also true. When you cannot or will not answer this question, you will keep doing the exact things that you are doing right now and getting the same results.

The BIG question: Where will you be five years from now?

You might be wrapping your mind around the heretofore unthinkable pandemic and wondering when the next global even will rock your world. Nevertheless, understand this— in five years you will be five years older no matter what happens in the world.

I propose a way of evaluating your deepest life wishes so that you can craft the answer to the five years from now question.

It’s a lot like doing a SWOT analysis for your business. Remember? (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.) Your plan of action stems from the results. What if you think about your life as if it’s your business? What if you apply similar principles. Let’s call it the Personal SWOT Analysis.

You are not AI. You are I – Intelligence. You are also the machine that generates ideas, effort, and income. The best fuel for your machine is creative imagination. What’s your specific, visual and heart-warming and soul-calling mental picture of yourself five years from now?

A Personal SWOT Analysis breaks down key components to better answer the question. You can jot this down on a single sheet of paper while you are enjoying a quiet break

Personal SWOT Analysis

Grid With Four Blocks Title Personal Swot Analysis : Outcome, Benefits, Obstacles, Time

You build a strong framework when you are specific. Put numbers in the outcomes you want.

For example:

Outcomes

·     Provide for family (=> $18K/mo)

·     Improve fitness and health practices

·     Build Net Worth (2X in 5 years)

·     Learn the Money game

·     Create multiple streams of income (build => 1 more sources of income)

·      Support anti-trafficking organizations (give 10% of income/year)

Benefits

·      Feel increasing confidence

·      Generate profits even with market changes

·      Experience satisfaction of helping a worthy cause

·      Transforming into Financial Independence

·      Enjoy the feeling of vitality and intentional living

Obstacles

·      Self-discipline

·      Dead-end job

·      Short-term thinking

·      Debt

Time Frame

·      5 years from today

What’s next?

It’s time to be the playwright of your life. That mental movie of you five years from now can be organized into action scenes. The scenes are based on the outcomes and benefits. First you write the synopsis like this:

By September 14, 2027 I will be generating at least $18K per month, improving my fitness and health practices, doubling my net worth, learning the money game, generating at least 2 more streams of income, and regularly giving 10% of my income to anti-trafficking efforts SO THAT I feel increasing confidence and Security, generate profits no matter what the market does, experience satisfaction of helping a worthy cause, transform my life into financial independence, enjoy vitality and intentionally living my purpose in life.

This synopsis become the framework around your new plan. The plan needs your name, for example, The Stefanie Plan, The Josh Plan, or The Monique Plan. Putting your plan in writing is the hallmark of all successful plans.

Would you like to create a new and better way to live? Then, make a plan.

It sounds simple but it’s not easy. Planning is a superpower. See how your life transforms when you activate your inner creative dreamer and make your plan.

I've always loved to read. Stories invited me into adventures but left me hungry for action. Why couldn't I experience adventures for myself? At first I thought lack of MONEY was the problem. Then career came and I thought TIME was the problem. So I set out on a journey to prove that I could live my own adventures regardless of money or time. Now I teach others how.
