Daily Looks: Week Ending 9.20.24
It still looks like summer with my outfits and that’s because I dress for the weather, not the calendar. I know many influencers are pushing all of the fall items, but I’m still here loving the present day and embracing the now.
I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
Saturday
Today was a half-day church thing but at a different location. So you never know what the temperature is going to be like. Since it’s still over 100 degrees, I wanted something lightweight in case it was warm in the room and a jacket in case it’s chilly.
Then thinking about the dress, I wanted one long enough to cover, and flowy enough for comfort.
Phew, that’s a lot of thinking about what to wear.
I added a lime green belt, yellow sneakers, and fun accessories.
The gold decoration at the neckline is a clip-on earring and my colorful cross earrings are perfect for the event.
Sunday
This dress was in my recent Your Revolving Closet box and I felt like I was going to a picnic in it. (which is a good thing).
I added the hat to tame down the curls and wore matching sandals.
Matching? Who am I, haha?
I accessorized with silver earrings and a bracelet and called it good.
Monday
I call this my housedress because it reminds me of the dresses my grandma used to wear around the house.
You might not realize (because I didn’t at first) that I’m wearing it backward. Are the buttons supposed to be in the back? I say this because the label is along the edge where I used magnets to magnetize the flaps down.
The crazy part is I didn’t even notice it when I was futzing with it or looking in the mirror. Probably because there’s so much print that it doesn’t stand out.
But just so you don’t think I’m pulling your leg, I used this photo for the feature image so you can see it too.
If I had worn it as intended, I wouldn’t have needed the white T-shirt, but hey, it’s all good.
I continued the housedress theme with these sandals because they seemed like slippers.
At least I added accessories so you don’t think I’m just out of bed.
Tuesday
This is one of those skirts women wouldn’t buy because they would say, “I have no place to wear it”. But why? Why not wear it to run errands like I am? Why not look nice even on a casual day??
I did wear it in winter to the ballet. But I wanted to wear it for errands today. I was off to get a facial, so I paired it with a graphic t-shirt and sneakers.
My Cariuma sneakers have been worn tons and tons and you might notice I have more than one pair. They have such amazing sustainable practices for their brand, and when they send emails with $30 off occasionally. It’s hard to resist.
I accessorized with a gold necklace and gold earrings.
Wednesday
I hadn’t worn shorts yet this week, so I figured it would be a good challenge with this puff sleeve top from Your Revolving Closet.
The top is navy and red, so I didn’t want to wear either of those colors for my shorts. Instead, I decided to try pink (since pink is a shade of red).
It’s amazing how the red in the shirt seems more pink with the pink shorts. In real life, it’s obvious the stripes are red, but in this photo, they seem pinker.
Anyway, I wore my rose gold sandals, a gold metal belt, and loads of gold necklaces.
BTW, if you have a top with sleeves like this and struggle to layer with it, I showcased 4 ways that would work.
Friday
This may look like a spring outfit, but I still believe any color can be worn at any time of year.
This scalloped top was in my Your Revolving Closet and I wanted to print mix with it.
These pants were $1 and even though it’s a fast fashion brand, I figure it’s better I buy them secondhand and wear them, then keep them from filling landfills.
I wore the comfy cork sandals that I bought for a steal when Ros was having a recent sale. I feel like this gold cork goes with everything and even if it’s too cold to wear them where you live now, they will be fabulous for next summer.
I kept it simple with wood earrings and there is a lime green bow in my hair in the back.
