Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.23.23

Well, it’s officially summer and that means most days are 100-degree days. We do celebrate if there are days that are only in the 90s (like Friday of this week). I know that sounds super hot, but you have to remember that it’s a dry heat. And while everyone makes fun of me when I say that, it really makes it more manageable.

Saturday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.23.23 &Raquo; Sat 2
Skirt: Pom-from Bias Cut Boutique~~Top: Umgee from Just Be Youtiful~~Sandals: Vivaia

Honestly, I changed out my shoes after taking this photo to a pair of pink espadrille sandals. For some reason, I felt a tad frumpy otherwise.

The blue silky top is from Just Be Youtiful and I’m wearing it backward (it’s a low-cut v-neck). It may be a tad wonky tucked in like this, but that’s what I did at first. Later I untucked it and you’ll see that one of these days on the blog.

The skirt is from The Bias Cut in the UK which believes that Ageism is never in style. They have some great sales from time to time. This exact skirt is from last season, but I love the flow and it’s perfect for summer.

And notice the earrings. They were originally a darker brown and didn’t stand out against my hair color. So I added one coat of white fingernail polish, and voila, they are perfect!

Sunday

Shorts: BR Factory~~Cardigan: no label~~Sandals: Walking Cradles “Nella”

I wanted to break up my linen vest/shorts set and this is what I came up with today. The shorts are on sale for $35 (in 2 of the colors) and I really like them more than I thought I would. The silhouette reminds me of a skirt, and as long as I keep the top half tucked in or short, I think the proportions are good.

The black distressed top creates a nice contrast with the gold cardigan. I’ve had this cardigan for over 15 years and it’s one of those items that doesn’t get worn for casual days much. But I decided to break it out.

I continued the gold with my sandals which are still available. This style of sandal has been reviewed last year and they are truly super comfortable.

Pink and gold? What do you think?

Monday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.23.23 &Raquo; Mon 1
Dress: Blu Pepper ~~Sandals: Dakota Chase-Steinmart

Tiered dresses are very trendy right now. This is one that I removed from the bottom tier because it was too long for me. You really don’t notice the tiers when it’s a print fabric.

I will admit that the colors aren’t very vibrant which is why I added the orange shoes, earrings, and bracelet. I’m not sure I will keep the dress, though.

I wore my extensions pulled to the side in a ponytail. That’s what I love about long hair is the variety and options available.

Tuesday

Jumpsuit: Skies are Blue-Fashom~~Sandals: Italian Shoemakers

I noticed the beginning of the week wasn’t as bright for my colors, so I pulled out this jumpsuit. I consider this jumpsuit one of the easier ones to get in and out of because of the buttons in the front.
It was from the online shopping site, Fashom, where right now you can get a mystery box of 5 items for $50 (with my link). You can request certain things; this jumpsuit is truly a favorite of mine.

I’m wearing my Julie Mays bra with it which looks like a cami by filling in the front area. (See more about this ethical lingerie for sensitive skin)

I even matched my sandals to the look.

If you’re in the know, then you realize that Barbiecore is a big thing. SO bright pink for the win.

Wednesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.23.23 &Raquo; Wed 2
Pants: no label-Clothes Mentor~~T-shirt: Mott & Bow c/o~~Sandals: Goodwill

Linen pants are definitely a staple in our hot weather. I found these pants thrifting and had to shorten them (like almost everything I find).

To style them, I first wore them with a white T-shirt. This is the new lighter-weight t-shirt from Mott & Bow called a slub tee (it also comes in sleeveless and other colors). I like how it is stretchier and better for our hotter weather.

Instead of adding something with the same colors from the pants, I wore this lime green vest (seen on 3 of us here) and then added darker green sandals and a necklace. (BTW, this necklace was Lesley’s mom’s).

A headband to keep the hair out of my face and it copied the darker green to bookend the shoes.

Friday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.23.23 &Raquo; Fridy
Skirt: Philip Lim for Target-thrifted~~Top: Old Navy~~Sandals: Walking Cradles

I was inspired to style some print mixing from my friend, Marsha who blogs at Marsha in the Middle. I’d been meaning to wear this gingham tank top and figured it worked wonderfully with the spotted skirt.

No surprise that I’m wearing my strapless Gatherall bra. I keep track of how many times I wear it, and this is my second bra on its 22 wearings. (My first one was worn 42 times, and it will still work with tighter-fitting items).

I chose black sandals since the overall color of the navy is dark. These are the brand Walking Cradles, which are my gold standard for comfy shoes. This style isn’t available, but there are a bunch of different ones you might like.

And the earrings are made by a local designer Leslie, who is incredible. She hasn’t gotten her items on Etsy yet, but when she does, I’ll let you know.

Thank you
