Hearing Loss a Common Problem for Baby Boomers

Growing up with our loud music and rumbling cars and motorcycles, hearing loss is a common problem for the Baby Boomer Generation. Close to one third of us have hearing loss caused by loud noise, Aging, disease and genetic variations. Our Experts in this area of the site talk through the signs of hearing loss which include having trouble understanding what people are saying over the telephone, finding it hard to follow conversations when two or more people are talking, often asking people to repeat what they are saying, turning up the TV volume so loud other people complain and other signs we are losing our hearing.

We also explore how we can stay connected and engaged as we work through improving our hearing. Hearing and then listening helps give us insight into everything we do each day. Knowing that good communications is the foundation of Relationships, enhancing our skills through good hearing leads to better participation in social interactions and discussions reducing our risk of isolation and loneliness. Hearing actively engages the brain, strengthening neural pathways and promoting cognitive sharpness, memory and focus.
