- Episode #9: Always be open to learning something new. Deborah Brown-Volkman 23:20
Yvonne DiVita began her writing career in 2nd grade. She was always writing. And, she kept writing. In high school, Yvonne shared her stories with friends. They kept asking, “when is the next one coming out?”
Yvonne did not pursue a writing career. Instead, she became a vet tech, which is like a nurse or physician’s assistant, but for animals. She loved animals, but something inside was missing.
Yvonne brought writing back into her life when she returned to college as an adult student, studying literature and creative writing. Then, years later, she wrote a book, and had a very bad experience.
This was Yvonne’s a pivotal moment, “I will start my own publishing company. I will help others avoid the trouble I had when I wrote and published my book.”
Yvonne’s top lesson is to always be open to learning something new. There is so much information out there, and learning makes you a better person. She wants you to believe in yourself. And, find a mentor because all great goals are not achieved alone.
Yvonne’s life work is helping writers. She helps her clients from Day #1, Word #1, to the finished book. Full service from idea to getting your book on Amazon to marketing it to the world.
