Dr. Faisal Qazi will discuss the meaning of brain health and offer advice for maintaining or maximizing brain health as we age.
He will also offers explanations about the meaning of cognition, executive function, how it changes as we age as well as what those changes mean for persons with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.
Without delving too deeply into neuroanatomy, Dr. Qazi will describe the difference in the underlying causes for strokes: blood clots, aneurysm and hemorrhages and explain one of the most common causative factors: high blood pressure.
Overall, healthy life style is key for maintaining a healthy brain. The importance of maintaining nutritional, physical and emotional/psychological balance are all factors which contribute to a healthy brain and a healthy life.
