  1. The Latest in Sleep Science- Helping Us Rest Easier! Jeff Ostroff 39:27

Hi everyone.

Do you or someone you know have a sleep problem? Millions and millions of people around the globe do.  My guest expert, Dr. Phil Gehrman, is an expert on treating people with sleep disorders and bringing the latest in sleep science to CEOs and decision makers.

Among other things, Phil talks about (1) the three most common sleep disorders, (2) what percentage of the population has sleep disorders, and what role demographics and Lifestyle play in this, (3) how much sleep most people need, and (4) recent and potential future advancements which are or will help to improve our ability to diagnose and treat sleep problems.

You’ll also get some great tips from Phil on how you can get a better night’s sleep!

Now a little bit more about Phil: Dr. Phil Gehrman is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and a clinical psychologist at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center.  He directs the Sleep, Neurobiology and Psychopathology lab at Penn.

Dr. Gehrman has an active research program exploring the mechanisms and treatment of sleep disorders and their relationship with Mental Health.  He also is co-director of Optimal Sleep Consulting, which brings the latest sleep science to companies and organizations. The overarching goal of his work is to improve health and wellness through better sleep.
