Generally refers to a style of clothing, or fashion, that is fleeting but is a popular trend for a period of time–and goes in and out of public favor. For example, the Mod Look which was high fashion in the early 60s, was arguably started by Mary Quant in London, England. Mod fashion was innovative, creative, bold and brash. some of her innovations included mini skirts worn with colored tights, hot pants and the baby doll look. In the United States, during the late 60s, the look evolved into the hippie style, which included bell bottom jeans, fringe (especially on leather jackets), beads, headbands and embroidered tops.
