Janet Nausbaum writes a most creative, informative and helpful book for parents and grandparents interested in raising independent and responsible children. For about $34.00, you receive the workbook for adults and a little binder for children which is full of chores that are specifically stated and can be categorized by days. Adults will appreciate how the presentation resembles a workbook, and children will enjoy having their own binder allowing them the opportunity to own their chores by creating a personal journal and record to guide them weekly.

Nusbaum is a Professional Organizer, speaker and mother of two, who owns Simplified Spaces. As a single mom, she speaks from experience. Her easy to follow system allows you to understand the personality of each child, decide what chores they are capable of doing, and a system for implementing jobs for every child in the family, regardless of age.

Prior to assigning chores, she shares insightful information about discovering your child’s learning style which is helpful when setting the plan in motion. She addresses the importance of family togetherness, and why it’s necessary to hold family meetings emphasizing success with the system, possible rewards, and how to keep the family chores flowing while keeping peace.

If you’re a parent who wants to take charge in a manner that creates peace and consistently promotes cooperation within structure, I recommend this system.
