Collection of Gluten Free Holiday Recipes

The holidays come with so many gifts and blessings.

For many with food sensitivities, attending all the holiday get togethers and events, this is not easy.

I have been creating gluten free and some plant based items for more than six years.

These are often requested, by clients, friends and family.

For a long time gluten free tasted more like cardboard.

I am on a mission to change this, as I do believe gluten free can be tasty.

We truly are blessed to have a variety of different gluten free flour blends to choose from.  With these flours we can go cup to cup with a regular gluten recipe.

One of my go to gluten free flours is the Namaste Gluten Free Perfect Flour Blend.  When using gluten free flour I am looking for flour with structure that also includes Sweet Brown Rice Flour, Tapioca starch, Brown Rice Flour, Arrowroot Starch, Sorghum Flour and Xanthan Gum.  Some of the gluten free flours often do not include the Arrowroot Starch, like the Cloud 9 Flour that Costco is currently carrying.  An easy fix is to add Arrowroot Starch and also ingredients like Date Paste and hydrated ground Flax Seeds.

Many in addition to being gluten free are also dairy free and some plant based.

Some easy switches are to:

Replace Butter with Almond Butter.

If you choose plant based Butter, you will need to add hydrated ground flax and Arrowroot Starch, to give it more structure.

Replace eggs with hydrated ground flax.

Collection Of Gluten Free Holiday Recipes &Raquo; Nanaimo Bars Version 2 1024X705 1

Nuts and seeds are great replacements, as I feature in the Healthier Nanaimo Bar Recipe, that won a local award in Parksville.

In this blog I feature several of the recipes that I often will showcase during the holidays.

Some of my clients bring their teams together and enjoy these goodies as how they invest and build Relationships with each other.

We often see a variety of goodies featured during the holidays.

What about a savoury option?

Roasted Pears And Brussel Sprouts

In this collection I also feature a few savoury options that are beautiful to complement or feature at a meal.

I am a Wellbeing Coach and a Holistic Nutritionist with demonstrated success in nurturing healthy employees and high performing organizations. In December 2017 I founded The Nourished Executive where we partner with our clients to invest in their wellbeing and share strategies to manage stress and prevent burnout.

Prior to launching The Nourished Executive, I worked primarily as a Project Manager/Executive Assistant.

I feel so blessed to have been involved in leading, creating and building unique community partnerships, delivering client and community focused events and meetings and working with many talented executives.

For me it continues to be a top priority to find those ways to partner and nourish the wellbeing of myself and others. This begins by fostering psychological safety and creating boundaries in alignment with our values and purpose.

I believe we can find ways to harmonize life, where work does not come at the cost of life.
