There’s something strangely poetic about a passport that’s never been stamped.
Mine sits quietly in a drawer, renewed once over the last 25 years, but untouched by immigration officers or airport Security. I’ve never stepped outside the shores of India. Not once. And yet, I’ve been across continents-daily-for the last three years.
In the mornings, I find myself in Australia, chatting with authors and innovators. By afternoon, I’m in Europe, diving into conversations with thinkers and teachers. As evening sets in, I’m in North America-New York, Toronto, San Francisco-speaking with CEOs, creators, and seekers.
All from the same small room in my apartment.
Over 2000 live shows. Voices from across the world. Stories, ideas, laughter, silence, insights, tears. And not a single stamp in that passport.
Podcasting became my portal. It showed me that the deepest journeys don’t always begin at departure gates. Sometimes, they start with a question, a connection, a conversation.
I’ve walked the Camino de Santiago with Kathleen-not with my feet, but through her vivid storytelling. I’ve felt what it’s like to Sleep in a cold warehouse beside a father and his children, when times were hard and hope was thin. I’ve soared to dizzying heights with entrepreneurs who once had nothing, now flying high in their success. I’ve stood-emotionally, spiritually-in the silence of concentration camps with Oksana, listening to her recount her parents’ pain and unimaginable loss. I’ve felt the ache of losing a son, the emptiness left behind, as if it were my own.
These moments happened thousands of miles away, in different lives, different worlds. Yet through their stories, I was right there.
And through it all, I’ve also witnessed extraordinary resilience-stories of transformation, redemption, and hope that remind me just how deeply connected we all are.
And here’s what I’ve come to believe: the biggest borders we face aren’t geographical.
They’re internal. The prison of the mind is real-and far more limiting than any visa restriction. We tell ourselves we’re not ready, not enough, not “global” enough.
But the truth? You are enough. Right now. Right where you are.
Podcasting gave me the world. Not in miles travelled, but in hearts reached. And I believe life offers each of us a chance like that. Maybe yours won’t come through a mic. Maybe it’ll come through a brushstroke, a spreadsheet, a classroom, a quiet act of courage. But it will come.
So I ask you- what if the journey you’re waiting to take has already begun? I’d love to hear: where have you travelled in spirit, even without a stamp to show for it?
Let’s keep exploring-together.
Until next time,
KAJ
