I'm Kate: a mix of poise and spunk, with a side dose of sensible sass. It means the world to me to leave people better than I found them. Be it encouraging words, a listening ear, a workout regime to feed the body, or learning the language where I visit at least enough to give a warm thank you.
With a background in the speed, energy, and attention to detail encompassing the performing world, mixed with a passion for interacting with people both in person and through the lens, I found a road paved to the hosting world.
I have worked as a host from the sports realm to Education… As a correspondent for SportsGuru, an instructional host for Townsend Press, and even commercial throws for the State Theatre of Pennsylvania’s live broadcast of the Freddy Awards. I am the creator and host of the weekly show and podcast, Be The Good with Kate, fka Some (More) Good News, shedding a light each week on people being the good in our world in some way, shape, or form.
My ideal is to share stories of people-- their own success stories, and stories of how they help their communities.
Additionally, I have been a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor in NYC for over a decade, my time spent with corporations, individual clients, and master classes. Virtually, I work with clients around the world. This translates to strong skills in teaching all different types of people, empathy, adaptability, and being the calm in any and all chaos. I love adding to my fitness and nutrition knowledge, educating people, and sharing in their joys of reaching goals.

Stained glass artist Margaret Malishchak proves new chapters don’t have to mean leaving other passions behind for good. After loving creating stained glass as a young adult, Margaret then shifted her focus to her growing family and other aspects of life, her art supplies packed away in her Madison, NJ basement. But this was a ‘see you later’ not a ‘goodbye’-- a great reminder to all of us that we can step away from one passion to focus on another, and it does not have to mean we are leaving it forever. Fast forward more than 25 years, Margaret’s daughter asked about the boxes in th…

A moment for author Julia Cameron today...First, thank you to all the guests who inspired us this season, and as a bonus, shed a light on my new/old state of New Jersey. As return listeners know, I am from New Jersey, left it for over a decade, and celebrated coming back by highlighting people doing good in this small but mighty state of NJ all season here on Be The Good with Kate. Along this theme of moving and change, I recently picked up a book I read many, many years ago: Transitions, by Julia Cameron, most known for her bestselling book, The Artist’s Way. Today’s guest looks beyond physical health in his practice as a doctor of physical therapy and board-certified orthopedic specialist working each day to get active adults back to doing the things they love to do without pain meds, injections, or surgery; even if they've tried PT before. Dr. Paul Kochoa says, “My mission is to change how people think about physical therapy - that it's more than the traditional medical model. We can create change with proper treatment and correction, assessing the whole body and working to 100% of a person's goals, and not just be pain-free.” We talk: …
