Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.12.24

It wasn’t my favorite week of outfits for some reason. Some weeks you win, and some you don’t, right?

I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Sunday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.12.24 &Raquo; Sun
Dress: Velvet Heart~~Skirt: Aakaa-Your Revolving Closet~~Sandals: Marc Fisher-won in giveaway

I’ve been so interested in the idea of layering on the bottom half of my outfit. After I tried it with this shorter skirt over a dress (on Saturday of this Daily Outfit post) and then with 2 skirts in the unusual styling part of this article, I want to try it more.

What you may not realize is this type of layering doesn’t make it hotter. Both skirts are lightweight and flowy, so I don’t even realize I’m wearing two. I wish the skirts were closer in length. I think that would have looked better, but you don’t know until you try it.

It reminds me of the pinafores my mom wanted me to wear as a kid and I HATED.

The white dress I bought back before a local boutique closed. The skirt is from my clothing rental box (Your Revolving Closet-30-day free trial).

I added colorful sandals and a scarf around the clip in my hair.

The decor at the neckline is my clip-on earring, and I’m telling you, it’s the best way to add bling without the heaviness of a necklace.

PS. One advantage of this layering is it’s like wearing a slip. You can’t see the outline of my legs at the top half where the shorter skirt is covering. So if you’re a woman who still believes in slips, why not wear a shorter skirt over a longer skirt or dress for something different?

Monday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.12.24 &Raquo; Mond
Skirt: A New Day-Goodwill~~Vest: Banana Republic~~Sandals: Vince Camuto-DSW

I wanted to wear one of my vests, and we are going to a doctor’s appointment today, so I thought this looked somewhat professional.

The funny thing is this skirt is brown and black, right? Yet paired with the pink vest, it seems to have a pink tinge to it.

I found the skirt while thrifting last year when my husband and I did the blind thrifting challenge. Here’s the video if you’re interest is piqued.

And I accessorized with turquoise. Turquoise is my go-to for a pop of color because it livens up everything.

Tuesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.12.24 &Raquo; Tues
Pants: Old Navy (similar here) ~~Top: Poshmark~~Sandals: Nisolo “Go-To Flatform” c/o

We are going to Tai Chi this morning, so I wanted a transformative outfit. You can see my sports bra under this wrap crop top.

And I can practice Tai Chi in these wide-leg pants. Old Navy has a similar pair this year that isn’t as shiny.
One of the secrets of staying cool is the flow. I tried on a pair of joggers first this morning, and they were too confining.

I will switch out the sandals for sneakers before we go, but right now my toes need air. These sandals are from the brand Nisolo and were a PR gift. They are meant to be comfy, but I still think Ros (formerly Walking Cradles) is better for function.

I wore gold dangling earrings and fun toppers for my glasses. I’ll be writing about this type of eyewear soon.

Wednesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.12.24 &Raquo; Wed 1
Shorts: WHBM-thrifted~~Top: Naked Zebra-Fashom box~~Sandals: Jessica Simpson-DSW

It still amazes me that I love wearing shorts at this age. For a time in my 40’s, I didn’t think they were appropriate, but I’m glad I’m over that way of thinking.

This type of cami top doesn’t work well when trying to layer something over it because of the pearls on the straps. So it’s perfect to wear alone in the summer. One of these days, I should wear it over another top in the cooler months.

I wore these shorts years ago as part of my color recipe. I tried them with a lighter pink back in the day, and here they are with a hot pink.

There is a lot going on with this look, right? The print of the beret, the print shorts, and the print sandals. But there’s a lot going on in my head too, so my outfit matches my personality!

Friday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 7.12.24 &Raquo; Fri
Skirt: Faherty -Your Revolving Closet~~T-Shirt: Mott & Bow c/o~~Sandals: Kelly & Katie-DSW

I was going to wear this T-shirt as a one-shoulder tee but it didn’t work with the cut as well as I wanted. So I came up with another plan to give the t-shirt some pizzazz.

I used these cardigan clips on each side and then hung 2 of the tassels we just purchased at the fabric superstore from each side.
It almost looks like an officer’s uniform, but hey, I’m having fun.

BTW, at first, I used these cardigan pins all the way through the sleeve but they kept sliding down.
So then I adjusted them so the pin portion went under the material.

Insider tip: I don’t describe it well, so I created a video to show you what I mean.

The skirt is a linen blend and very lightweight and who am I wearing matching colors? LOL.

That’s why I had to bring in a different color with my shoes. These are old, old sandals, but I love the look.

Thank you
