Daily Looks: Week Ending 6.21.24
Happy Summer. Of course for Arizonians, summer started last month and won’t slow down until September or October. I always say that I have 6 months of sandal weather now which is why my collection has grown so much.
In Colorado, I was lucky if I was able to wear sandals for 2-3 months.
Signing up for the emails is a daily dose of positive fun. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
Saturday
This is why I L.O.V.E. playing in my closet. Creating a fun and unique outfit that no one else would be wearing just tickles my fancy.
My mom found this furry corset while we were thrifting. It reminds me of the one I knitted and wore here.
However, since it’s much more cropped than mine, I decided to wear it OVER something else. And this green maxi from my clothing rental box was the perfect option. It’s like I belted it but up higher.
I even added a clip-on earring right at the top middle for decoration.
These Betsey Johnson sandals are so colorful and fun, but definitely not comfy. The plastic doesn’t stretch so I only wear them for short periods.
Then I put my hair up and tied a small scarf around it.
I love this outfit so much that I think Rob should take me out tonight, haha.
Sunday
Even though the dress has long sleeves, the sleeves are sheer, so I thought they’d work for the season. I could imagine it with boots for colder temperatures although you’d need a layer under the sleeves too.
The color is an interesting yellow and brown shade. Instead of wearing the self-belt, I pulled out this thrifted orange belt and wore orange-colored sandals.
Of course, I didn’t want to match my earrings, so these lime green ones were the accessories of choice.
I first thought the dress was short, but I felt covered since the top half wasn’t exposed. And I really wear shorts that are shorter than the dress.
Monday
Both Rob and I were going to be on a Zoom podcast this morning, so I needed a top that showed up nicely on a video. This color is one of my favorites, but what I didn’t notice until I pulled up this photo is that there is a stain on it.
I’ll have to try to get the stain out. I’ve saved this top many times. It started tearing under the arms, so I had my mom replace the sleeves with sheer ones. After those started to pull out, I removed them and added navy trim.
The top is near and dear to my heart because it used to be my best friend’s top.
This ruffle skirt is truly gorgeous. It’s from my clothing rental box and it fits perfectly.
I wore my floral wedges with the outfit. I found these shoes for only $4 at Goodwill last week, and they had never been worn.
I accessorized it with a scarf clip at the waistline, but it didn’t stay put because the skirt is a silky material so it would slide off.
Tuesday
Light and flowy. Two words that are needed for outfits right now. I found these pants at Just Be Youtiful last year and it’s like I’m not wearing anything. They are called wrap pants, and I like how the wrap is connected. I have a pair that you wrap yourself and I’m probably going to sew them shut.
I wanted to add a different color with my top, so I chose orange. I had on orange sandals too at first but decided to go with my navy ones. It’s amazing because as soon as I step into these Ros shoes, it’s like a huge relief to my feet. The tiny pillows in the insole, the soft material for the straps…it all just makes such a difference.
White was my accessory color of choice.
Wednesday
Today’s outfit is a reminder that you can be a fairy princess any day of your life. For most of my life, I would never have worn something like this, but the best part of getting older is realizing that I can wear what I want and have fun with my style.
This pink tulle sheer dress is a layering item that can be worn over or under a variety of things. That’s exactly why I had to have it. Mireille bought the same one in white when she was out here visiting.
I layered a kimono over it and held the kimono together with a magnet and the front panels with a clip.
The sandals are from my comfy shoe company Ros and I’ve had this pair for over 4 years.
I wore colorful straw earrings that are still available on Amazon.
Thursday
I was helping out at a fashion show for Just Be Youtiful today and this dress was the first one I was to wear down the runway. One of the reasons I chose it is because it’s crazy versatile.
I think I may need to purchase it and show all the ways I can change it up. It’s like magic.
I did hold the front together with my Maggie’s magnet. Once it’s mine, I may sew it shut. We will see.
These silver sandals were a recent find at Goodwill for only $2. Yes, you read that right. How could I pass them up? They are a bigger size than normal, but I find in the summer, my feet swell a bit.
Friday
This dress started off as a jumpsuit. I decided to create a skirt out of the pants portion just like I did with my white jeans recently.
I found this red jumpsuit in the kids section at Goodwill on a recent trip, and the pom poms and cotton material had my heart. The bottoms of the pants were dirty and grungy and the hips and thigh area was a tad tight. That’s why I wanted to make it a skirt.
Originally, I thought I’d need to wear a top under it, but instead, I just added a lace tube and felt covered enough.
The sandals are one of my summer faves because of the colors and the comfort. I wore a long necklace with the same colors of the sandals, and a new pair of earrings from Maison de Camille.
I’m showing the earrings in the closeup at the top of the post. She has wonderful items on her site so I hope you check it out.
These are only $19 and you get a discount with JODIE20. Plus by buying them, you are supporting a small business (from Canada) who is a wonderful person. I met her when she came to visit her son here in Arizona.
