Sending Love and a Little Merry!
Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
I just wanted to take a moment and wish you a wonderful holy season!
How are you holding up so far?
Here a couple of tidbits to offer some supportive thoughts and choices to help.
Â
Aim for enjoyment vs. perfection. It’s easy to over Stress yourself with trying to make everything flawless. Both you and those who you are celebrating with will feel some helpful relief in recognizing the hope is for everyone to come together and create a lovely time. There may be some moments that aren’t perfect. The rolls may burn or a glass may topple. And that’s where the beauty of acceptance and adaptabiiity and grace come in. The person is more important than the mishap. Remember that. Our hearts and others’ hearts matter. Most people try really hard on the Holidays. It’s important for us to recognize the attempt and intention more so than only the outcome.
Laugh. As long as we are not laughing at others, humor is a delightful gift. Is there a way to sprinkle some joy?
Â
Ask for or offer help. It’s important to remember you are all in this together. Giving and receiving are equally important. Let others support you as you offer support as well. Say yes when it’s helpful.
If tensions arise, suggest everyone take a few deep breaths and shake off the frustration. Or go for a quick break with a walk around the block or a zip to grab something from your car, or take a trip to the restroom. Check your shoulders and neck. Roll them. Stretch. Do some big full body swings. Shake it off! And Breathe. Breathing opens the passageway to a different choice and offers some release. A liitle deeper slower breaths help.
Take some time to be in gratefulness and appreciation. The holiday may come and go quickly. So make a lasting memory. Take a moment to connect with each person individually, if possible. Let them know how they have blessed you this year. Being thankful makes everything a little softer.
The Holidays are about devotion, love, service, honor, faith, togetherness, and appreciation.
It is about The sacred Presence.
Â
I hope your Holidays are wonderful. I will be lifting you up in appreciation and love.
And I pray you feel God’s love embrace you and that you let it deeply to fill you! Like the glorious gift of Christ’s birth, and the gift of the oil never running out, we have so much to say thank you for.
