I exercise at 61 so I can do all the other cool things in life
I’ve been active since I was young, but at 61, staying fit feels like a whole new challenge. While I work out for my physical, mental, and emotional well-being, I’m deeply grateful that regular Exercise allows me to stay active and enjoy life without hesitation.
Of course, it hasn’t always been easy. I’ve had my share of injuries, aches, and pains. There were times in my life when I couldn’t afford a gym, yet I always found ways to move. Simple exercises like push-ups or running in place at home cost nothing but make a big difference.
If you’re struggling to stick to your fitness goals, try this: place pictures on your fridge of activities or experiences you’d like to enjoy. Use them as motivation to get into the mental and physical shape needed to make those dreams a reality.
Exercising is like Investing in a savings account—it pays off over time. At 61, I’m reaping the rewards of a lifetime of movement. But I’m not stopping here. I want to keep going strong for the next 20 or 30 years.
What motivates you to move? And if you’re still searching for that spark, what could inspire you to get off the couch and step into the world?
