Diane Gilman was an American clothing designer and shopping channel television personality on HSN, where she is known as the “Jean Queen”. She built a $150 million jeans empire. She began specializing in jeans after noticing the denim industry's void in catering to baby boomer women like herself. 

In 2013, Diane authored a book called Good Jeans: 10 Simple Truths about Feeling Great, Staying Sexy, & Aging Agelessly. While her book is largely biographical in nature, she uses her story to encourage and inspire women to go after their dreams and regain a greater sense of self-entitlement that may have been withered by societal expectations and pressures placed upon women past a certain age.

In 2017 she was told she had Stage Three Breast Cancer. 
Diane Gilman “Cancer is a great leveler and a great revealer. Cancer doesn’t care if you’re wealthy, cancer doesn’t care if you’re beautiful, cancer doesn’t care if you live in a penthouse on Fifth Avenue. And by the time I came out of my stage three diagnosis, I saw life differently—and I became much more grateful for it.

Mimi Tallo Be Heard Empower Yourself

I have a passion for empowering others through my words and actions. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, I always had a fire in my spirit and a zest for life. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Services from the University of Scranton, which ignited my passion for helping others.
I survived an alcoholic father and two abusive marriages and still managed to succeed.
Throughout my career, I have worn many hats, from a Living Skills Facilitator guiding adults with traumatic brain injuries and cerebral palsy to a Women's Liaison at the Lackawanna County Drug Court, where I championed justice and compassion. As the Director of Community Resources at Golden Lakes Village Love in Action, I wove connections and fostered a community of love and collective action.
My books include "Raised by Wolves Trapped by Demons," "Unearthing My Irish Roots," and "Surviving Your Demons." I am currently working on my fourth book, Anatomy of an Alien”. I continue to try and inspire and empower through my writing, podcast and YouTube show “Be Heard Empower Yourself”, speaking engagements, and social media presence.
I am already published on Amazon and Audible in English and Spanish.
