Right Tasks To Delegate

Did you get smarter about this before I did? Some of us take longer than others. After receiving endless outreaches from many agencies, this one’s name impressed me enough to explore who and what they were about.

Virtual Colleagues spoke volumes. That’s who I want — a colleague, not an assistant. And that’s what I got, and what a difference she makes!!! Many thanks to April, who makes so much more possible in my business. She knows I love it when she starts a sentence with “I was thinking…” and when she refers to “us,” and “we.” Is she perfect? Yes, a perfect Human Being!! A colleague of hers wrote this article. I share it with you with permission to do so.

1. Determine mundane and routine tasks

First, you must analyze which tasks in your workload are repetitive and time-consuming. This can be email management, data entry, etc. After that, you can delegate them to your VA in order to free up your time for other priority tasks.

2. Delegate tasks that don’t need your involvement

Sort out the tasks that are low priority in your list of responsibilities. This means that these tasks don’t necessarily need your expertise. Also, identify the tasks that can be organized easily by your VA to handle. These tasks could range from social media management, graphic design, customer support, and more.

3. Focus yourself on high-priority tasks

After sorting out and delegating low-priority tasks, you can now dedicate your skills, energy, and time to high-priority tasks. This is so you can form strategies and decisions that are crucial to your business’ Growth.  

4. Know your strengths and weaknesses

Assessing yourself can help you identify which tasks to delegate. Determine your strengths and weaknesses based on your skills and proficiency to perform specific tasks. If you see a task that you struggle with or that is not worth your time, consider delegating it to your VA, who is skilled to perform such a task. After doing so, you can receive better outputs than before.

5. Consider the expertise of your VA

It’s significant to consider the skills and capabilities of your VA as you delegate your tasks. That way, you can match the proper tasks for your VA to perform, ensuring better outputs than before. For example, if you need assistance with graphics, ensure that your VA is skilled in basic graphic design. While VAs have their particular skill sets, they are still open to learning in other fields, so don’t hesitate to train them.

6. Optimize your task delegation

A VA-client relationship is collaborative. Therefore, you must build trust and rapport with your VA as you progress over time. This could be done by delegating smaller tasks and increasing their complexity gradually as you move on. That way, you can gauge the performance of your VA and the tasks needing delegation, bringing efficiency to your workflow.

Determining the right tasks to delegate your VA is crucial to an efficient workflow and increased quality of outputs. That way, you grow your business even further than expected. This is why having a VA is worth your time and budget.
