Whose got a bucket?
Right now, there are fires destroying huge communities in California. My High School….gone. My first church….gone. So much devastation.
The fire hydrants ij the Palisades have run dry. What a petrifying reality. To be in a crisis and not be able to help yourself.
I think we all could use everyone’s prayers for our communities, countries, and our world right now.
And it brings out an important possibility…
The Power of Showing Up!
There is a simple yet profound act that truly changes people lives – SHOWING UP as others need.
But what does it mean to genuinely show up in someone’s life? And can you view this as an amazing, powerful, sacred opportunity? Being there in both good times and the bad times, offering the high fives and also the comfort of hugs when there are tears? Can you be a source of strength, hope, prayer, love and support to someone? And who would this person be? Do they know your steadfastness?
And who has been this for you? Who has been there when you were devastated, hungry, needy, lost? Think about it? Who is that person who came through just at the moment you needed support? Each of us has had this in our lives. Maybe when we were little, maybe a teacher, a grandma, maybe someone as recent as yesterday? We each have had our own personal hero’s and angels. Take a moment and think back on yours.
I have shared with you so many that I have had when my arm shattered. One being Michael Mints who inspired this message.
Would you take a moment and call or write a few of yours? Tell them how much they have helped you, supported you, or came through for you just as you needed?
Who ran and grabbed a bucket when your hydrant ran dry?
Would you tell them? So much of the beauty of our love and life is knowing you have helped someone or impacted someone.
My sweet friends, I encourage you right now, take that moment and share in gratefulness, appreciation, and maybe a even with a glass of water.
I am so grateful for you!
