Andre’s Bio and Contact Information

André M. Brown is an experienced, dynamic, empathetic facilitator and program development expert with over thirty years experience assisting a diverse population to improve their lives. Prior to relocating to Miami in late 2019, In 2020, in response to the tragedies of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, André founded Racial Just Us, a division of his agency Jump Street Coaching, as a way to help others create actionable meaningful racial change. Combining his expertise as a trainer and International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach, he developed the Coaching For Community Anti-Racism Series, a coaching and education program for Black allies, that helps participants create a personalized anti-racism approach meaningful to them. As a result of its incredible flexibility, the applications of Coaching for Community have expanded beyond its anti-racism roots, to be an innovative and impactful way for participants to accept and appreciate the wide range of differences in all people. André is incredibly passionate about affecting systematic change in the DEIB space, and served as the first Vice President of DEIB for the South Florida chapter of ICF, where his duties include leading local chapter efforts to positively influence the field of professional coaching, as well as presenting self-developed trainings like Social Impact: An Anti-Racism Perspective. He also serves as a DEIB focused virtual coach on multiple on-line platforms, consulting and collaborating with clients to deeply understand their needs, then assisting to develop solutions to maneuver through often difficult situations with patience and humility. A New England Patriot fan for life, he’s still waiting for Tom Brady to come out of Retirement and return the team to its former glory.

Dave Roberts LMSW, Author, Podcaster

David J. Roberts, LMSW, became a parent who experienced the death of a child, when his daughter Jeannine died of cancer on 3/1/03 at the age of 18. He is a retired addiction professional and an adjunct professor in the psychology child life department at Utica University in Utica, New York. Dave also teaches psychology classes at Pratt MWP School of Art and Design. He is the host of The Teaching Journeys Podcast, which can be found on Apple, Spotify and other podcast platforms.

Dave has presented workshops at national conferences of The Compassionate Friends as well as for the Bereaved Parents of the USA. He was also a keynote speaker at the 2011 and 2015 national gatherings of the Bereaved Parents of the USA. Dave also co-presented a workshop titled “Helping Faculty After Traumatic Loss” for the Parkland, Florida community in May of 2018, in the aftermath of the mass shootings at Stoneman Douglas High School.

Roberts has been a past HuffPost contributor and has contributed articles to Medium, Open to Hope Foundation, Mindfulness and Grief, Thrive Global, and the Recovering the Self Journal. He has also appeared on numerous podcasts, as well as Open to Hope Television. In 2021,he co-authored and published a book with Reverend Patty Furino titled, When The Psychology Professor Met The Minister.
