  1. Awakening To A Purpose: Michael Hajduk's Fight Against Human Trafficking Dave Roberts 58:06

In this episode of The Teaching Journeys Podcast, host Dave Roberts delves into the inspiring life of Michael Hajduk, a man who has faced tremendous adversity and emerged with a passion for combatting human trafficking. Born in 1963, Michael has overcome the loss of both parents and survived four near-death experiences, which led him to retire in 2022 and found the Human Rescue Society. We discuss the severity of human trafficking, with the U.S. being a major destination and the industry worth billions annually. The Human Rescue Society collaborates with organizations like Saved in America, Poema Foundation, and Hope Co. to rescue and support victims. A significant initiative is the upcoming Sips and Souls Cafe, a community-oriented coffee shop aiming to raise funds and awareness. Michael’s efforts are a call to collective action, emphasizing vigilance and community support to combat human trafficking.

Michael Hajduk’s Bio and Contact Information

Michael Hajduk began his life journey on October 1, 1963.

Throughout his journey thus far he has experienced multiple life-changing events that have brought him to realize what his purpose (calling) truly is. He is the husband of Kathy Hajduk, father of Lori, Michael, Melissa, and Marshall. Grandfather of Adrianna, Gabriella, Stella, and Mia. Brother of Linda, Paul, and Carole.

Michael’s father passed away when he was 13 in 1977, and his mother passed away when he was 39 in 2002.

During Michael’s life he has experienced 4 times when his life could have ended but he was spared and survived. The first 3 were spanned over the greater part of his life but the 4th was more recent in 2021. On that warm day on March 13th his life would change forever after a near fatal motorcycle accident that awoke him to his calling.

Michael has been an entrepreneur his entire life and has been involved in many businesses along with working in Corporate America.

After 35 years of working for a major corporation Michael retired in June 2022 and unknowingly set out on his predetermined destiny to combat human trafficking.

With the help of many volunteers, professionals, friends, and family Human Rescue Society Inc. was born in 2023. A registered 501 (C) 3 not for profit organization. HRS is a product driven organization raising funds to support other organizations in the fight against human trafficking. With the familiarity and love for coffee this quickly became the lead product for HRS. In December 2023, the process was started to open the first coffee shop, Sips and Souls Café in addition to an E-Commerce presence online.

Michael takes immense pride in helping others in multiple ways. He currently hosts a weekly global virtual call discussing varying topics from Finance to health, well being and everything in between.

Michael’s vision is to build a Legacy with Human Rescue Society Inc. that will continue long after he is gone to continue to end human trafficking.
