The Change Zone – Healed People Heal People with Chris Hartstein!

  1. The Change Zone - Healed People Heal People with Chris Hartstein! Bold Brave Media Talk Radio 1:01:36

Chris is a certified life coach, professional organizer, and practitioner of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), who dreams of a day when empathy skills flourish to support our children and end senseless violence. When she discovered NVC in 2013, Chris was moved by its simplicity and depth. One 3-hour workshop changed an ‘enemy image ‘of her teenage daughter into compassionate understanding. As a volunteer at Lilly May Carrol Jackson, a girls’ middle school in Baltimore City, Chris dealt with students’ emotional upsets and conflicts by listening for feelings and needs. She began an after school sewing group to have connected conversations with a small group of students. Chris hopes to raise awareness of the NVC learning community with her children’s book, An Inside Story: A Children’s Book for Grown -Ups Too! which was inspired by her daughter and the girls of Lilly May Carroll Jackson School.

KZ, Grandmother Of Two “Using very simple language and images, this book helps children … and adults too … understand how thoughts, emotions and physical sensations are driven by needs that we all share. More importantly, the book provides guidance on what to do to move forward despite the scariness and ickiness we might sometimes experience. I can’t wait to share this book with my young grandsons and will be sure to use the practice page and discussion questions to help them really connect with the book’s lessons.”

Who is Chris Harstein
