How do you take a business from ground zero to Growth?
In this episode of The Business Ownership Podcast I interviewed Jessi Burg. Jessi has spent her entire career in seasonal industries, from summer camps to outdoor Education and landscaping, bringing a unique perspective to company organization. In 2017, Jessi founded her first business in landscaping with a mission to value employees, pay a living wage, and still maintain the freedom to work outside. Through this venture, Jessi realized that being a business owner amplified her voice, allowing her to advocate more effectively for tradespeople, seasonal, and gig Economy workers.
In 2021, Jessi launched her second business, Outgrow Your Garage, expanding her advocacy work while teaching other small business owners how to turn their ideas into sustainable business practices. Outgrow Your Garage specializes in business operations, an area where many businesses tend to struggle. Jessi’s expertise lies in transforming chaos into systems, solving problems, and managing logistics.
As a values-driven entrepreneur, Jessi is passionate about demonstrating that profitability can coexist with breaking down class barriers and treating employees with respect. Through Outgrow Your Garage, she also supports organizations that reduce recidivism through entrepreneurship. Jessi partners with individuals and organizations focused on small business growth, particularly in trades and services. She is actively involved with Good Business Colorado’s advocacy efforts and regularly collaborates with the Associated Landscaper Contractors of Colorado (ALCC).
