At 60 I work out when I travel – here is why

No matter where I go, my Travel Yoga mat and Exercise bands always come with me. This way, I always have the option to exercise, no matter how packed my days are or how small my space is. (Español abajo)

I started working out in my teens and never stopped. I was a fitness instructor in my 20s and 30s, a lifelong runner, a dancer, and a yogi. In my mid-50s, I became a certified yoga teacher (RYT500).

At 60, I am incredibly grateful that my dad, @carbonelldelfin, instilled in me the habit and discipline of movement from an early age.

If I sit for too long, whether cramped on a plane or in a car for hours, I know that only movement will help me feel like myself again.
Working out has always helped me mentally, emotionally, and physically. I’ve had a few injuries, but I’d rather have those than illnesses caused by being sedentary.

We all have different abilities, circumstances, and lifestyles, but when possible, it’s a good choice to move your body to the extent that you can.

If you want to feel empowered, strong, and grounded, get in the habit of moving regularly. I say this from personal experience. How far you take it is up to you!

This reel was filmed at the gym on our recent sponsored @virginvoyages trip. I was so happy at the gym! I’m wearing a @bodyglove bra, @vuori leggings (LOVE them), and for my narrow feet, @saucony shoes have been a staple for many years.

Thoughts on working out?
