I had the pleasure of having Dr. Kristine Goins, MD on the podcast. Talk about marching to the beat of her own drum!
I have had wonderful conversations over the last few years during my podcasting journey, but this one struck a cord, in a good way. Dr. Goins went from the traditional path in medicine, to taking a one way ticket out of the country, and not looking back!
First off, that takes guts, and as she broke it down, medicine is a very laid out path for us!
We tend to be the rule followers, not the breakers.
We tend to play it safe, and to not rattle the cage or shake the boat.
In my humble opinion, she turned it upside down and inside out! She has been traveling to different countries, residing there, and reversing the work/fun ratio. Through her true passion for Travel and wanderlust, she founded NomadMD. She helps physicians live fuller lives. She so greatly said it, we have so many skills. Take time to sit and think what do you want your life to look like?

Dr. Sapna Shah-Haque, MD is a board certified Internal Medicine physician. She was born and raised in Kansas, and attended medical school at the University of Kansas [KU] School of Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at KU-Wichita as well. After experiencing burnout herself, and watching other physician colleagues burn out, it became a passion of hers to look into different aspects of burnout. While the system does need to change, as it is broken, this podcast is a way to reach physicians and possibly shed light on what is not an isolated situation.
