12 more children die after two infant sleepers are recalled
If you have a child or grandchild or are a caregiver, you need to know about the dangers of infant sleepers.
More than 100 deaths have been reported in Rock ‘n’ Play Sleepers, which were recalled in April 2019. However, although 4.7 million were recalled, as of March 2022, only 9.5 percent of the sleepers had been accounted for, according to information from Fisher-Price’s parent company, Mattel.
At least eight deaths have occurred after the recall, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission or CPSC. The agency has reannounced the recall of Rock ‘n’ Play Sleepers.
Deaths have occurred in the sleepers, often after babies roll from their back to their stomach or side and suffocate.
In addition, about 694,000 Kids2 Rocking Sleepers were recalled in April 2019. Fifteen deaths have occurred in the sleepers, four after the recall was announced.
The CPSC also has reannounced the recall for the Kids2 Rocking Sleepers.
Parents may have the dangerous sleepers in their homes, they may be sold in secondhand stores, or they could be found in caregivers homes or daycare centers.
Parents, grandparents, and caregivers need to follow the guidance of the CPSC and stop using these products immediately.
