Daily Looks: Week Ending 11.17.23
Sometimes it is hard to remember that Thanksgiving is next week. Sure the weather has cooled down for us, but it’s still so temperate and I can have naked legs and not freeze my tookus off.
Some of the deals I style in my outfit posts are ones that I share in my emails when they are first available. That’s one advantage to getting my daily emails if you are interested. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.
Saturday
I was helping out with a fashion show with Just Be Youtiful, so I wanted to wear a simple dress that was easy to style things over. That’s where the black dress came in.
The black dress is one that I thrifted and entered into a contest through Goodwill for changing up the item when we first moved out here. Needless to say, my entry into the contest was hugely lacking. There were incredible entries, but I kept it to wear for any day.
You can sorta glimpse the yellow knitted accents on the dress under the jacket.
The jacket is one of those “lady jackets” that you’ve seen other influencers talk about. This one is from Just Be Youtiful, and she might still have some in her store (under $50). Just reach out on her FB page if you are interested.
I thought it was perfect to wear my Cariuma sneakers with the outfit and then yellow flower earrings and bangle bracelets.
Sunday
We were heading out to celebrate a friend’s birthday which meant getting a little spiffy. I bought this dress when The Limited was going out of business and even took it on our Alaska cruise and wore it 3 different ways.
Today, I decided to layer a hoodie vest over it and then decorated the vest with a sparkly brooch at the neckline.
The white boots always seem like a perfect choice for me (which is one reason I took them on our most recent cruise) because they are modern, comfy, and go with everything.
Monday
2 outfits because we had 2 different events today. The first outfit was for our dog training, so I couldn’t wear a dress. But I did try to incorporate the same top for both looks. It was a neutral outfit with pops of color in my accent pieces.
My second outfit was for an event at Just Be Youtiful so I wore this tulle dress and my favorite silver boots.
The pearl necklace in both was a thrift store find, and I think it looks great with any kind of outfit.
Tuesday
I found this fabulous skirt at Goodwill and snagged it for $2. It’s a heavy-weight material that reminds me of drapery material, and I love the flower and fringe trim.
I thought it paired perfectly with this festive t-shirt from Draper & Damon. For those of you who don’t dress up for the holidays, I thought this tee was a fun way to add holiday cheer and still be comfy.
Since it’s still relatively warm here, I could get away with bare legs. The ivory combat boots are my favorite way to modernize a traditional look. They are comfy and relatively inexpensive.
Of course, I had to add extras with the lace socks (which I’ve worn a long time ago). My earrings are handmade by my friend, Gurmeet, and can be found for a deal on her Etsy site (sold as a set with a pendant).
The red frame glasses add some nice color to my face to counteract the black T-shirt. They are from Glasses Shop where you can save 35% with my code Jodie35.
Wednesday
Rob described this as Arabian chic. Do you know those FB ads that pop up when you’re scrolling? That’s how I found these pants (which are still available even in petites), and I ended up taking them on our cruise and wore them twice on excursions. I have to admit, they are easy pants to wear and I even washed them with no issues.
This sheer, embellished jacket was a steal from Savers and the colors are perfect for autumn. I decided to layer it with another print. This animal print sequin top is one I used to wear when I was working, and you’ve seen it ages ago layered over a turtleneck.
I wore my rose gold ankle boots. I swear metallic footwear is making a huge return, so if you need any, let me know and I can find links for you.
Then I had to wear my statement glasses from Zeelol. I found out about the brand from a clerk at Trader Joe’s. So I signed up for their affiliate program and ordered myself a pair of glasses. They weren’t super comfy at first, but now they are.
I don’t have a discount code, but their glasses are very inexpensive.
Friday
I’ve worn these jean shorts more than I thought I ever would. I DIYed them from a pair of thrifted jeans that I wasn’t wearing much, and I really like the longer length and I can easily wear them in winter with tall boots. Last year I wore them when we went to the AZ State Fair with my white cowboy boots.
I had this sequin top out to wear and thought the shorts would casualize it fabulously. I was supposed to meet up with some blogger friends, but I was feeling under the weather. I still got dressed though because I feel worse if I hang around in my jammies.
Since I was hanging around the house, I just wore my white canvas sneakers (Cariuma brand that is incredibly sustainable). And one of Rob’s hats because it was humid today (shocking, I know) so my hair went curly.
Dog Walking
I think I’ve found the perfect dog-walking outfit for our cooler mornings. If it’s under 65 degrees, I love throwing on this faux leather puffer that I just received from a PR company. I’m seriously enthralled with it because it’s heavy enough to keep me warm, and it looks super modern. PLUS it’s only $50 at the Rack which is an incredible deal for a coat this quality. It comes in a darker color too, so go take a gander at it.
The other detail is my fleece-lined leggings. I’m telling you that fleece-lined leggings are the way to go when it’s cold. I found a bunch of different ones, and they aren’t all tight-fitting, but they are all under $30.
Thank you
