Daily Looks: Week Ending 11.10.23

This week was all about easy looks because we were still dealing with a sick kitty. And you can tell it’s cooling down because you can see I’m donning layers.

I think you would enjoy it if you signed up for the emails below. Besides the free eBook, my email family gets personal tidbits of what’s going on in my life along with other happenings, sales, information, giveaways, extra photos, and interesting articles.

Saturday

No photos because Spookie had been in the emergency pet clinic all night Friday, and I just couldn’t remember to take any this morning. But I did get dressed.

Sunday

Dress: Gap-Goodwill~~Jacket: entro ~~Sneakers: Converse-thrifted

I found this dress for $2 at Goodwill, and it’s perfect for the cooler weather because it’s a knit, and has 3/4 length sleeves. Since I didn’t wear a cami under the wrap, I used a magnet (found on Amazon) and then I covered the magnet with a clip-on earring

Related post: Other ways to wear clip-on earrings.

The morning was cool enough that I needed a jacket, but by noon, the jacket came off. I liked the tan corduroy jacket to lighten up the look.

Then I added my lime green Converse sneakers. I could have easily worn ankle boots, but since it’s still warm enough, I might as well wear fun sneakers.

Monday

Jeans: Old Navy~~Vest: Banana Republic~~Sneakers: Jambu -“Sandy” c/o

Dog training day, so it’s casual and comfy. Yet, nothing is too new. The newest things are these wide-leg jeans, that I found this spring at Old Navy. I wore them when we talked about college fashion trends.

My striped sweater is one that I talked about using the half-tuck style years ago. For today’s look, I tucked it into my bra band (which is totally convenient for when you have to go to the bathroom…there’s no retucking involved.)

Then this velvet vest is from over 6 years ago shown in a post about OTK boots.

I wore thicker-soled sneakers with wide-leg jeans and kept them dark to mirror the darker vest. I’ve been very surprised at how much I love these black, Jambu sneakers since I don’t wear that much black. But it helps that they are super comfy and easy to get on with the side zipper.

Tuesday

Pants: Ann Taylor~~Sweater: Ann Taylor~~Sneakers: Cariuma

I was working hard to get out of the normal autumn color schemes, so I decided to wear this sweater with the heart on it. Sure, I bought it for Valentine’s Day, but every day should be a day of love, right?

My original thought was to pair it with a red skirt, but then I opted for these white cropped pants (worn here 5 different ways).

The sweater is one of those thin sweaters that isn’t very functional in the cold weather except to layer over it. I suppose you can layer under it with a turtleneck, but I thought it would be more fun to wear this incredible dickey under it. I’m not sure if Just Be Youtiful has any more of these dickeys in her store, but reach out to her on FB if you are interested. And make sure to use code Jtouch15. The dickey is under $12, so it’s a steal.

I kept it simple with white sneakers. These are my Cariuma ones in canvas, and I’m wearing my Sheec socks. The earrings are from IslyNYC. I love the clear plastic because it’s lightweight and shows up nicely against my hair.

The fun glasses are from this company called Zeelool which I learned about from an associate at Trader Joe’s. They have the best statement glasses.

Wednesday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 11.10.23 &Raquo; Wed 1
Joggers: Peach~~Blazer: Old Navy ~~Shoes: ShoeDazzle

I’m working with Marsha to bring you ways to style this fabulous velvet blazer that we both bought from Old Navy. I’ve always been a fan of velvet and considering most of my blazers and jackets are shorter, I thought this would be good to have in my closet.

I chose to casualize it with joggers and a hoodie. What could be more casual than that? Yet I added intentional details like the brooch at my waist, colorful flats, and festive earrings.

It’s hard to see but I’m also wearing my new faux ponytail I bought from Amazon. I tried the dark blonde and it’s maybe a little light, but I think it will work. You can tell it’s fake because it’s really shiny, so I googled how to fix it and we will see if I can make it look better.

Thursday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 11.10.23 &Raquo; Thurs 1
Skirt: A New Day-Target~~Top & Jacket: handed down from my cousin~~Mules: ccocci-Goodwill

I’m going thrifting with a reader of the blog who is visiting Phoenix today. So this is basically my thrift uniform, especially for Goodwill where the fitting rooms aren’t open.

1-I like a skirt or dress so I can try on other bottoms under it.
2-A thin, tight top or cami so I can try on tops/sweaters over it.
3-When it’s cool, I take some type of cardigan/jacket that is easy to take on and off.
4-Shoes that are easy to get on and off. And the best part about wearing mules, is I still have Sheec socks on as protection for my toes.
5– Keep accessories at a minimum and only wear flat rings on my fingers.

The sheer top was worn on our Alaskan cruise over another shirt, and even though I don’t wear it much, I decided to be bold and wear it over my bralette. Full disclosure: this is a huge step out of my modest comfort zone. But I feel more covered because of the jacket.

I wouldn’t say the jacket and skirt are great proportions, but because the jacket hangs open, I like it.

I showcased a shorter jacket with another of my satin skirts a couple of weeks back.

Friday

Daily Looks: Week Ending 11.10.23 &Raquo; Fri 1
Dress 1: Milly-preloved~~Duster: Kancan- won in a giveaway~~Boots: Target

This is two dresses layered over each other. You’ve seen this denim dress styled for winter last year. I almost wished I hadn’t taken off the breast pockets, so maybe I’ll put them back on.

I did tuck in the collar as well as the button band on each side just so that when I belted it, you could see the dress underneath. BTW, I bought this belt in Rome because I love the big elastic belts.

Insider tip: If your dress has a self-belt, you don’t have to wear it. I pulled out the denim one that was part of this dress and used the turquoise belt instead.

Because it was cooler today, I opted for my taller boots (with tall socks). The only reason I added the necklace was to bookend the white, but I’m not sure I love it.

Thank you
