Grandmother Corn

Grandmother Corn is an Ancient One
who shares the medicine of
plenty
enoughness
lush nourishment
abundance

Everyone’s included in the bountiful sharing
nobody’s left out of the beauty and richness
walls don’t separate the haves from have-nots
there is nothing you have to do to deserve the gifts

In her language
words do not exist
to evaluate who’s worthy
of love, generosity, and respect

In her ancestral knowings
there is no translation
for never-enoughness

In her eyes
the web of life
is not chopped apart
into deserving/undeserving
superior/inferior
beautiful/unbeautiful
special/unspecial
good/bad
better than/less

Grandmother Corn offers infinite sharing
to seed, nourish, and grow
fertile resources and bountiful gifts
which feed bodies, spirits, communities, and hearts

Not only for the human people

Her nourishing abundance showers
tree people
stone people
those who flutter and hum and fly on wings
the ocean-dwellers who swim, float, and leap
the no-leggeds, four-leggeds, eight-leggeds, and many-many-leggeds
earth’s waters, winds, and soils
countless planets, moons, galaxies, and stars

Her medicine ways come alive
in vast loving realms
free of
hierarchies
judgments
competition
and fears

Listen.

Can you hear her?

Grandmother Corn is calling to you…
