Episode 114 – Women's Hormones at Menopause: What You Need to Know with Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith

  1. Episode 114 - Women's Hormones at Menopause: What You Need to Know with Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith 1:06:55

I love a good hormone discussion, and this was definitely one of them!  Women's hormones at perimenopause and menopause can be pretty complex, and I had the honour of discussing them today with Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith.

Dr. Susan Hardwick-Smith is a Board Certified OB/GYN and has been in practice in Houston since 1999. In 2020 she retired as the Founder and President of Complete Women’s Care Center which she opened as a solo practitioner in 2002 and grew to be the largest all-female OB/GYN group in the country by 2019. Dr. Susan decided to start her “second act” as the Founder of Complete Midlife Wellness Center, a concierge practice focused on helping women find their full aliveness in midlife and celebrate the amazing opportunities that menopause brings.

Topics covered:

– Special attention needed at perimenopause to prepare for menopause.
– Individuality of women during this time.
– Medicine for midlife women.
– Estrogen – is it really all the bad?  What the newest studies say.
– Dismissiveness of symptoms women feel.
Sleep during menopause.

And so much more covered in this amazing and informative episode!

To get in touch with Dr. Susan, you can find her at the Complete Midlife Wellness Center, on Instagram @drsusanofficial and order her book, Sexually Woke  here https://drsusan.com/book/.
