Multigenerational travel in Lake Tahoe
Now that we’re empty nesters, nothing brings us more joy than vacationing with our kids.
One reason Phil and I are active is so we can continue enjoying fun activities —whether it’s just the two of us or with our younger generation. We sure don’t wanna miss out in the next couple of decades!
We find that the best conversations happen when we’re out doing things together rather than lounging around. So, you’ll often find us on the go as a family!
Last month, we explored Lake Tahoe’s East Shore near Incline Village, Nevada. The original plan was to visit Secret Cove, but we ended up parking in a different spot and discovered a new, equally beautiful, and less crowded area.
It’s a bit of a hike from the road down to the water and back up, but we managed it, even when Phil wasn’t feeling his best.
There’s so much to do in this area—paddleboarding, swimming, hiking, or simply enjoying lunch under the trees. Just be sure to arrive early to secure a parking spot. Our kids told us to wear flip-flops but oh, my, the dust and the incline. Next time I’m taking my hiking shoes!
Pack plenty of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, rashguards, and hats, and enjoy the beauty of nature. The water was cool but still swimmable, even for me (and I’m a warm water person!).
