What a fun interview! I enjoyed talking to Terri Parlato about All the Dark Places, an atmospheric crime story that gave me the shivers. It starts off with a warm and cozy dinner party on a wintry night. Beyond the windows the snow swirls softly abd I was happy to be inside drinking wine, birthday cake–feeling safe and sound. But not for long. As the story unfolds there will be real chills. A bloody murder. A long forgotten past.

It’s so much fun for me to talk to debut authors. Getting published is so exciting. I love celebrating with an author who has finally made it.  Terri is deservedly excited–not only is she published, but she has created a memorable character. I’m sure we will be reading a lot about Boston PD Detective Rita Meyers in future books. At the age of sixty, Rita Myers has thirty years of experience which she enjoys sharing with younger partners. I predict Rita will go through quite a few partners over the next years as Terri Parlato finds more ways to bring readers compelling mysteries that they will not want to put down.

I am already looking forward to Terri’s next novel.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

A dark new thriller perfect for fans of Megan Miranda and Shari Lapena where murder exposes the dark secrets at the center of a group of friends and sets two women – one with a traumatic past, the other a Boston police detective – on a hunt for truth.

Snow falls softly outside Molly Bradley’s home on a frigid January night. Inside, half a dozen close friends are gathered to  celebrate the fortieth birthday of Molly’s psychologist husband, Jay. Candlelight gleams against dark wood, wine flows, and the  house rings with laughter. Everybody loves Jay, Molly most of all. Yet the next morning… (Well, read it for yourself–I don’t want to give any more away! Let yourself be surprised….)
