Doctor Supports Caregivers Journey Challenges Woman Looking Into An Empty Wallet. One Assumes She'S Caring For Someone With Dementia And She Needs Support And Services.

Doctor Supports Caregivers Journey Challenge. Caregivers play a crucial role in supporting individuals facing health challenges, particularly those dealing with dementia and other cognitive disorders. These dedicated individuals often find themselves overwhelmed by the responsibilities associated with caregiving. One of the primary needs for caregivers is access to comprehensive resources and support systems that can assist them in navigating the complexities of their roles.

The challenges faced by caregivers are multifaceted, ranging from managing the daily health needs of their loved ones to coping with the emotional toll of witnessing cognitive decline. A doctor spearheading a platform dedicated to caregivers recognizes the importance of centralizing information and creating a supportive community. By facilitating connections between caregivers and valuable resources, such a website can empower caregivers to better understand and address the unique health and living challenges associated with caring for individuals with dementia. The doctor’s initiative embodies a proactive approach to enhancing the overall well-being of both caregivers and those under their care.

The Doctor is Here to Help

Producing this show for nearly seven years, I have not had the opportunity to talk to a doctor who is working to fix the problem when our medical care cannot, and does not, help map out a plan for families facing a dementia diagnosis. That ended with this guest, Dr. Logan who paused his residency to address this issue. He has partnered with Olera Care to connect families with resources and support.

Be sure to check out their website. It is chock full of useful information and they are there to support you.

After helping care for her grandmother who had vascular dementia, Jennifer realized her Mother was showing signs of early onset Alzheimer’s. After the death of her father in 2017 Jennifer went searching for answers to many of the common questions and Alzheimer’s caregiver faces. Being a busy entrepreneur Jennifer realized that a podcast would be the easiest way to learn more about caregiving while completing other tasks.

Sadly, in late 2017 she only found one and it didn’t quite address what she was looking for, so she did the next best thing, and started her own. The Fading Memories podcast is now in it’s fourth year and despite the death of her Mom in March 2020, Jennifer is still talking to caregivers and still learning how to be an excellent caregiver. On the podcast she discusses caregiving, brain health, self-care and how to age well.
